Research On Resource Management In Knowledge Grid

Knowledge, the foundation of the upcoming knowledge economy time, is undoubtedly the principal motivation to improve and promote the development of economy and society. Currently, however, the key challenge of human being flourishing knowledge-based economy is the phenomenon of "information rich but knowledge poor," which has caused the inefficient fact in accessing and acquiring knowledge. As the information infrastructure in 21st century, Knowledge Grid that is expected to solve the matter has become the focus of many researches.As the basis of knowledge grid, resource management that focuses on organizing and managing human knowledge to solve the unsatisfactory problem in most knowledge needs aims at establishing a platform of sharing knowledge to efficiently and conveniently access and acquire knowledge, and owns some dominating characters, such as high sharing, cooperativity, opening, stability, equilibrium, and virtuality etc.The paper first introduced the definition, objective, and characters of resource management in knowledge grid. Then we analyze the motivation sources stimulating resource management and summarize the methods and thoughts of resource management in knowledge grid. Based on all the above work, finally, a novel operational flow framework is proposed.This paper is organized as follows: Section 1 introduces the research backgrounds and State-of-the-art of knowledge grid and resource management. Then, the definition, objective, and characters of resource management in knowledge grid are discussed in Section 2. Section 3 detailedly analyzes the motivating factors of resource management from values, foundations, and motivations, respectively.
