The Supply Chain Network Management Based On Web Services

In 1950s', the application of computer initiates a new era of Information Management in Enterprises Management. The computer-aided Information processing technology has far-reaching influence on the methods of Enterprise Management especially the methods of Manufacturing Management. Now the philosophy and management mode of Supply Chain has come into wide use. In last two years, a new Information Technology called Web Services emerges and is labeled as the third IT revolution except PC and Internet. Then, What are the problems of SCM in current applications? What is the Web Services technology? How do we integrate the Web Services technology into SCM?This thesis tries to evaluate the development of IT from the aspect of management, and analyze how IT and Management promote each other and affect each other. After the presentation of the enterprise borderline theory, we put forward a new notion of Supply Chain Network. On the other hand, this thesis introduces the Web Services Technology, its framework and its promotion of SCM. We also design a SCM application based on Web Services in the thesis. The thesis is a great theoretical innovation and a good reference for the practice for the implementation of web based SCM in China.Firstly, the development of Manufacturing Management System is briefly introduced and we narrate the contents, characters and limitations of each development stages. The thesis also analyzes how IT and Management promote each other and affect each other.Secondly, the thesis presents the theory of enterprise borderline and many assertions of different academic schools. After describing the division of work and cooperation, we put forward the notion of Enterprise Supply Chain Network and analyze the operation, structure and trend of Supply Chain Network. Thirdly, the thesis introduces the Web Service technology and its framework in detail. In light of the problems existing in current SCM applications, we describe what the Web Services technology will do to promote the SCM.Fourthly, combining the Web Services Technology and SCM, we design a simplified SCM application based on Web Services Platform.Finally, this thesis introduces the existing problems in Web Services itself and the application trend of Web Services in SCM Systems.
