The development of Internet and the human demand for its applications are interacting nowadays. Internet plays a significant role in the work, study and daily life of modern people. On the other, the demand for network resources also facilitates the updating of Internet technology.Due to the combination of traditional communication technology and computer communication technology, the network grows increasingly complicated. Various applications are employed on the data network. As the network transmission capacity is enhanced by the advancement of transmission technology, the demand for the network resources soars as well.In the past two years, domestic IP broadband MAN has been developed to a considerable extent, in which various new transmission technologies were adopted successfully. With the development of new network applications, the distribution irrationality of network resources have gradually loomed in the operation process, among which the most direct embodiment is traffic irrational distribution resulted from traditional router protocol.Through Traffic Engineer technology we can solve this problem very well, which in a large degree is still a matter of concept. It is not until the birth of MPLS technology that the actualization of successful deployment and implementation of Traffic Engineer on large network becomes workable.The thesis is chiefly devoted to several kinds of principal transmission technologies on broadband MAN and rational distribution of traffic in the duration of broadband network. On basis of that, it also introduces MPLS technology, theactualization method of MPLS Traffic Engineer and two signaling-building mechanism of it and after that the comparison of the two.The key point of successful Traffic Engineer deployment lies in the setup of LSP-Tunnel, whose construction is firstly determined by confirming the Explicit-path. Therefore, a path through the network without congestion must be found out. To achieve this purpose, we need to monitor network broadband to make analysis through network administration tools so that to calculate the utility of every path in the network.We can get communication traffic distribution graph combined with network topology, to make certain hypothesis and then, according to Mark-num Algorithm, to get the maximum network traffic. By proposing an algorithm, we get offline analysis tool, by which we can calculate the ER between source node on both sides, and then set up one or more LSP. Through MPLS we build up Tunnel and actualize MPLS traffic engineer.At the end, the thesis illustrates two successful application cases from computerIP network of CNT.
