Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is the most popular application since the concept ERP was put forward by the famous IT company Gartner Group, more and more enterprise realized the importance of ERP.ERP links all departments of enterprise by making use of information technology, including finance> produce^ selling^ human resource and so on. The function of ERP is display the useful information of all departments and managers could get correlative message easily according to their own username and password. With the help of ERP the company could avoid unnecessary resource waste and make proper decision.The study and application of ERP in China has only started for a few years and still exists a great distance with the known overseas ERP products.In the paper the author introduces the phylogeny of ERP and the related concepts first.
