Studied On The Flora Of Vascular Plant And Plant Resources Of Suzhou

Based on the 1303 samples collected in the several thorough investigations and surveys on its vegetations and vascular plants from May, 2007 and November, 2008. This paper discusses and analyzes the flora of vascular plants, plant resources and Community ecology in Suzhou city. The detailed results are as follows:1. Suzhou has 854 species vascular plants (including grades of lower species and the cultivated plants), belonging to 527 genera in 152 families, Cyclosorus parasiticus, Pouzolzia zeylanica 2 species and Cardamine violifolia var. diversifolia 1 subspecies belonging to Jiangsu province new records.2. The floristic elements of Suzhou are complex. The flora belongs to: subregion of Loess Plateau, Sino-Japan forest subkingdom, E. China region. Within the 457 genera of wild plant, temperate genera are 213; tropical genera are 170 The flora shows transitional characteristics from tropic to subtropic and temperate.3. The endemism within the flora is poor, there is some ancient origin in the flora of Suzhou. The comparison of the floras makes it clear that this vascular plants flora is closely related to that of Wuxi, and then to that of Nanjing and Shanghai respectively.4. There are 765 species of resource plants, which belong to 497 genera and 151 families in Suzhou. According to their economic uses, there are 13 types of plant resources. Among which four good types are emphatically recommended: medicinal plant, ornamental plant, edible plant plant and energy plant.5. The vegetation in Suzhou was classified according to the Chinese Vegetation Classification System. There are warm needle-leaved forest, evergreen broad-leaved forest, evergreen and deciduous broad-leavedforest, evergreen broad-leaved forest, bamboo forest, Shrubland, which include 13 communites. Divetsity indexes of plant communities in six vegetation types were compared, results shows higher plant community divetsity in evergreen and deciduous broad-leaved forest and lower diversity in deciduous broad-leaved forest and Bamboo forest. In terms of the character of vegetation of Suzhou, present some tactics on its vegetation resuming.
