Community structure, species diversity and plant resources of wetland vascular plants in Yancheng are studied in by the method of combining the filed investigation and analysis inside in this paper. The main results are as follows:1. There are 688 species vascular plants belonging to 391 genera and 114 families, including 7 species pteridophytes in 5 genera of 5 families,13 species gymnospermaes in 9 genera of 5 families,668 species involved in 377 genera of 104 families,401 species dicotyledons in 248 genera of 80 families and 267 species monocotyledoneaes in 129 genera of 24 families in the mud flat wetland of Yancheng. Among them, angiosperms dominate the group, which include Poaceae, Compositae, Cyperaceae, Leguminosae, Cruciferae, Labiatae, Polygonaceae. These 15 families are the dominating families in this area, holding 231 genera of 458 species, accounting for 59.08% at the level of genera and 66.57% at the level of species in this area. And it means that the dominate families in the wetland are obvious. Fimbristylis, Artemisia^ Polygonum、Suaeda are the dominate genera in the area. There were 1 species cyperaceae belonging to Jiangsu province new records. It is pycreus polystachyus of pycreus, mainly growing on wet sandy soil beside salt marsh and rice field.2. The floristic geographical elements of Yancheng was complicated, the proportion of tropical elements slightly reduced, while the proportion of temperate elements increased significantly from family to genus, shows transitional characteristics from tropic to subtropics and temperate. It characterized with ancient origin to some extent and the peculiar elements were poor. Plants have 4 main types of trees (10.03%),shrubs (7.27%), vines (1.60%) and herbs (81.10%), among which the herbs81.10%take the leading role.3. According to the classification system of 《Chinese Vegetation》, the vegetation of the mud flat wetland in Yancheng can be classified as 4 groups of coniferous forest, broad-leaved forest, desert, swamp and aquatic vegetation,5 vegetation type of deciduous coniferous forest, broadleaved deciduous forest, halophytic vegetation, sandy vegetation and aquatic vegetation, including 36formations 38 associations. At terms of plant communities, the paper analyses the important values and diversity index in three kinds of plantation. The paper introduces the general situation, frequentness and cover degree of 28 saline vegetation types. As a result, the communities with larger frequentness are the Phragmites australis community% Spartina anglica community、Suaeda salsa community andArundo donax community et. al. The plants consisting to the mud flat wetland are mostly herbs of salted, salt tolerance and aquatic types. The paper proposes measures to prevent control and manage the 27invasive plants.4. There were 688 species of wild plant resources in Yancheng, according to the economic use, they could be classified into seven kinds:medicinal plants, edible plants, ornamental plants, wood plants, pesticide plants, environmental protection plants, rare and endangered plants, etc. Medicinal plants, edible plants, environmental protection plants are important resources among them. The paper introduces 19 medicinal plants with local characters of the wetland in Yancheng, such as Limonium sinens、Apocynum venetum、Tamarix chinensis、Messerschmidia sibirica、Salicornia europaeaand Arctium lappa, providing theoretical basis for rational use of plant resources.
