Urbanization has greatly influenced on the urban ecological environment and biodiversity. By means of field investigation, data collection, indoor analysis methods, plant resources and habitat status of Suizhou city were summarized and analyzed. Applying matrix-patch-corridor theory, plant diversity conservation frameworks of Suizhou city and urban area of Suizhou city are put forward. The study can provide scientific basis for urban plant diversity conservation plan and natural resources management of Suizhou city. The main results obtained are listed below:(1)There are 1641 species of vascular plants in Suizhou city, including 1561 species, 698 genera and 165 families of wild vascular plants, 73 families,120 genera and 164 species cultivated plants. There are 19 families,28 genera 38 species of ferns, and 146 families,670 genera and 146 species of seed plants in wild vascular plants.Plant geographical composition of Suizhou city is complex, there are 13 types and 10 variants with seed plant familie, there are 15 types and 18 variants with seed plants genera; 28 genus whicn is 4.17% of the total number of genera belong to China exists in Suizhou city, so the endemism is rich; the cosmopolitan areal type, pantropic type, north temperate distribution types occupy a large proportion, it is characterized by tropical origin and temperate distribution.Important species diversity of Suizhou city is rich. There are 63 rare and endangered plants species; 340 old and famous trees in the majority with ginkgo biloba which should be classified into Grade ? 123, Grade ? 76 and Grade ? 141. Suizhou city is rich in vegetation types which are mainly distributed within Dahong mountain, tongbai mountain, zhonghua mountain, Dagui mountain, Ginkgo biloba reserve in Luoyang town, Orchid reserve in Wanhe town and baiyun mountain of urban suburb.Through the study of Suizhou landscape patches, tongbai mountain in the north, Dahong mountain in the southwest come into being a natural protective barrier for Suizhou city, a long and narrow plain of a northwest-southeast direction in the middle of the city presents the overall pattern of "a basin within two mountains". The central region is lack of large green patches, and the corridors which do not have the function of the ecological corridors are not a system, resulting in green patches in the area were disconnected.(2)Through the survey statistics of public green spaces in urban area of Suizhou city, there are 73 families,120 genera and 164 species cultivated plants, native plants whose number is 45.73% of the total have 75 species, belonging to 49 families and 68 genera. There are 27 famous trees and tree. There are only 89 kinds of green plants commonly used, so garden plant species are obviously insufficient. There are several problems existing in landscaping, such as single tree species, low utilization rate of native plants and unapparent regional characteristics.Through green land patch analysis of urban area in Suizhou city, the number of medium-sized plaques is most, the number of small plaques take second place and large plaque number is at least. Overall, urban landscape fragmentation is relatively serious, because small and medium-sized patch number accounts for 85.11% of the total, but the area accounted for only 28.70% of the total area. Besides, a lot of green patches are not yet completed, or their green quality is not high; road greening system and river corridor greening are not yet completed, unable to form urban green network or green ring for connecting green patches, resulting in the pattern of patch fragmentation.(3)Based on the analysis plant diversity, and landscape pattern of Suizhou city, applying the theory of matrix-plaque-corridor, "three horizontal lines, four vertical line, more green hearts" plant diversity protection planning structure of Suizhou city is presented to connect the various types of habitat patches, to alleviate the effects of habitat fragmentation for plant diversity, to be beneficial to plant diversity protection. Better preserved plant communities which are found in Dahong mountain, tongbai mountain, zhonghua mountain, Dagui mountain, Ginkgo biloba reserve in Luoyang town, Orchid reserve in Wanhe town are protected; there will be a conservation plan for 63 rare and endangered plants species and 340 old and famous trees in Suizhou city. Then, Genetic diversity conservation plan will be made for rare and endangered plant community of Dahong mountain, tongbai mountain, Dagui mountain and Orchid reserve in Wanhe town.(4)Based on the analysis plant resources situation, and landscape pattern of Suizhou city, applying the theory of matrix-plaque-corridor,"two loops, two axle, four wedge, multi-stripe" plant diversity conservation planning structure of Suizhou urban area is presented to protect Urban plant diversity of green space, to strengthen the connectivity among landscape elements and increase urban hybrid landscape by building the green wedges. At the same time, it is beneficial to improve urban biodiversity. Then, a protection plan is made for 27 old and famous trees in urban area of Suizhou city. Last but not laest, according to the actuality of Suizhou city landscaping, filtering wild native plant resources of high ornamental value is to plan fundamental 6 key trees,26 backbone trees, and 69 major ornamental tree species..(5)According to the plant community design principles, plant community configuration modes are put forward for urban forest and wasteland, public park, green buffer, road green space and urban streams of in Suizhou city using abundant native plants of Suizhou city and referring to the natural communities, and heterogeneity of urban landscape, creating diverse habitat spaces for creatures, improving urban biodiversity and enhancing regional ecological service function.
