"Human-centric" urbanization is a new idea implemented since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.As the main group of urban construction and population mobility,the urbanization of migrant workers is an important support for China’s economic development and is important to achieve coordinated regional development.To solve the problem of migrant workers’ urbanization effectively is the key to advancing urbanization process and improving the quality of urbanization.On the other hand,migrant workers have made great contributions to the economic development,but their employment,housing,children’s education,medical care and other rights in the migrant city have not been fully protected due to factors such as the nature of household registration and social discrimination.Unable to enjoy the same social treatment as urban residents,which will not be conducive to the self-development of migrant workers and the smooth progress of migrant workers’ citizenization work,and it will also bring huge hidden dangers to social stability.Existing studies mostly analyze the impact of rights protection on the willingness of citizenization,while few studies have conducted on the overall process of citizenization in the view of rights protection,and there is almost no research on the relationship between rights protection and the external environment of citizenization.This article focuses on the relationship between the protection of rights and the citizenization of migrant workers,and try to propose a new idea of strengthening the protection of rights and interests as the policy path to promote the process of citizenization of migrant workers.On the basis of defining relevant concepts and combing the existing research,this article first starts from the existing economic theory model,theoretically expounds the migrant workers’ urbanization in the early stage of migration and the later stage of citizen transformation.In the specific situation of China,the new-type urbanization theory is compared with the foreign citizenization-related theories to analyze and interpret China’s new-type urbanization path;in the core content part,this article focuses on the idea of "discovering problems-analyzing problems-solving problems" The urbanization of migrant workers is discussed,and the specific content is summarized as follows:1.Through the derivation of macroeconomic models,this paper finds that there are institutional dilemmas in the process of urbanization.At the same time,it discusses the institutional dilemmas from the aspects of population migration restrictions and urban welfare distribution,and proposes the possible way to solve the institutional dilemma of urbanization.2.Measure the progress of migrant workers’ citizenization,and analyze the status quo of protection of the rights and interests of migrant workers.This article analyzes the realistic basis of migrant workers’ citizenization work,expounds the relationship between migrant workers’ citizenization and rights,and at the same time sorts out the factors affecting the progress of migrant workers’ citizenization.In addition,this paper uses the C-D function to measure the progress,willingness,and ability of migrant workers urbanization,and uses factor analysis to analyze and compare the results of urbanization in various provinces.3.Study the impact of migrant workers’ rights protection on the external environment of citizenization.In the research,the theoretical model is used to analyze the impact of the protection of rights and interests on the formulation of citizenization policies from the perspectives of the supply of public welfare and the income inequality caused by the supply of welfare discrimination.When studying the impact of the protection of rights and interests from the perspective of income inequality,the problem of income inequality in the process of urbanization was verified,and the mechanism of the impact of urbanization on income inequality was analyzed.4.Empirical research on the impact of the protection of migrant workers’ rights and interests on the desire for citizenship.This article uses quantile regression,propensity score matching,Coarsened Exact matching and other methods to analyze the problem in detail.In addition,this article also carried out a study on the intergenerational differences of migrant workers on the impact of the protection of rights and interests on the willingness of urbanization.5.Empirical research on the impact of migrant workers’ rights and interests protection on the ability of citizenship.In order to solve the endogenous problem in the model,this article uses the two variables "whether to participate in trade union activities" and "whether to advise the unit" as the instrumental variables of the labor contract.At the same time,the UCI confidence interval set method proposed by Conley(2012)was used to verify the robustness of the selected instrumental variable estimation results.In addition,this paper also conducts a peer group analysis from the perspective of life cycle theory,specifically discussing the effect of the protection of rights and interests of migrant workers with different left-behind experiences and ages.The research in this paper finds that the current policy system of migrant workers’ urbanization has changed from strict restrictions on population migration and non-discriminatory urban welfare distribution to relatively free population migration and discriminatory urban welfare distribution,and the current household registration reform will also promote Related systems continue to shift towards free and orderly population migration and non-discriminatory distribution of urban welfare.However,in the concrete progress of the process of urbanization,there are still institutional challenges from the household registration system and the local government’s restrictions on population movement.At the same time,urbanization in China is still facing the situation that the overall progress of urbanization is not as expected,the development of urbanization work in various regions is not balanced,and there are heterogeneous differences in groups of migrant workers of different genders and generations.In addition,this article also finds that strengthening the protection of the rights can indeed improve the external environment of urbanization.Whether in the economic growth model from the perspective of public welfare supply or income inequality,strengthening the protection of the rights and interests of migrant workers can effectively promote the improvement of the external environment of citizenization by local governments and lower the threshold requirements for citizenization.Moreover,this article also verifies the promotion of the protection of rights and interests in increasing the willingness and ability of citizenship.In summary,by studying the relationship between the protection of rights and the external environment,willingness,and ability of migrant workers’ citizenization,it concludes that strengthening rights protection can effectively promote the process of citizenization and provide new ideas for the construction of new urbanization.The innovations of this article can be concluded in several parts: 1.Innovation of research perspective.Existing studies mostly analyze the impact of the protection of rights and interests on the will of citizenship,while few studies have conducted research on the overall process of citizenization from the protection of rights and interests.This article attempts to systematically analyze the urbanization of migrant workers from the perspective of rights protection.The main innovations are reflected in the following three aspects: a.Decompose the urbanization of migrant workers into three indicators: external environment,willingness and ability,and analyze the conclusions.Integration and unification have resulted in the overall impact of the urbanization of migrant workers;b.It is proposed to strengthen the protection of rights and interests to achieve the purpose of promoting the process of urbanization of migrant workers,providing new ideas and suggestions for the rapid realization of urbanization.c.It fills in the research gap of the impact of rights protection on the external environment of citizenization,and improves the theoretical system of citizenization research.2.Innovation of theoretical models.At present,there is no specific research on the protection of rights and interests in the external environment of citizenization.Based on the existing economic model of population size selection and social welfare distribution,this paper introduces the external environment into the model through the two indicators of population size and settlement threshold,and adds rights and interests protection parameters to achieve a theoretical study of rights protection The purpose of the relationship with the external environment of citizenization.This theoretical model has perfected the research system on the relationship between rights protection and citizenization,and also filled the academic circles about the impact of rights protection on the external environment of citizenization.3.Innovation of research findings.This paper verifies the role of rights protection in improving the external environment of citizenization of migrant workers,enhancing their willingness to become citizenization and enhancing their ability to become citizenization,and enriches the theoretical model of the influence of rights protection on the external environment of citizenization.And the conclusion of this paper points out a new way to promote the citizenization of China through the protection of rights and interests,and provides a new idea for the rapid development of new urbanization in China.At the same time,based on the studies of the effects of rights and interests safeguard to the urbanization of ability were analyzed with the group of people,under the perspective of life cycle theory to study the different staying out experience and age on the rights and interests protection and the influence of the relationship between urbanization of migrant workers ability effect,and analyzed the regional heterogeneity,related conclusions will help government policy in the light of local conditions.In addition,in the specific research,this paper also tries to optimize the empirical method to ensure that the research findings are more reliable.
