An Research On The Coupling Of Regional Knowledge Carrying Capacity And Marine Emerging Industry Agglomeration

Regional knowledge carrying capacity plays a key role in the development of regional industries, especially those dependent on high-tech. As a new direction of marine industry evolution, marine emerging industry differs from the traditional marine industry in its weaker dependence on marine resources and stronger dependence on high-tech. The high creativity and rich knowledge elements of marine emerging industry necessitate its agglomeration growth. With the development of Chinese marine high-tech, some marine emerging industries expanded rapidly. However, the Chinese marine emerging industry is still in its early stage and regional knowledge carrying capacity has a fundamental influence on marine emerging industry agglomeration. Therefore, the study on the coupling between regional knowledge carrying capacity and marine emerging industry agglomeration is of great significance in government's policies-making of regional knowledge and innovation, promoting the development of Chinese marine emerging industry agglomeration.Taking the coupling between regional knowledge carrying capacity and marine emerging industry agglomeration as the research object, this dissertation employed self-organization theory and systematic dynamics method to study the features of regional knowledge carrying capacity and the key factors in its evolution. Meanwhile, a systematic analysis was conducted of the marine emerging industry agglomeration effect from the perspective of knowledge carrying capacity based on the industry agglomeration and industry innovation system theory. Furthermore, a theoretical analysis was made of the coupling between regional knowledge carrying capacity and marine emerging industry agglomeration as well as the evolution of coupling system, bringing the coupling relationship between the two and their working mechanism into light. The evaluation index system and model of coupling between regional knowledge carrying capacity and marine emerging industry agglomeration were constructed. An empirical study was conducted of the coupling between regional knowledge carrying capacity and marine emerging industry agglomeration in 11 coastal provinces of China, verifying the theoretical analysis that the coupling interaction and reinforcement between regional knowledge carrying capacity and marine emerging industry agglomeration can promote the marine emerging industry agglomeration growth and regional knowledge carrying capacity.The empirical study indicates:(1) A better coupling between regional knowledge carrying capacity and marine emerging industry agglomeration corresponds to a better development of the two elements; (2) The coupling between regional knowledge carrying capacity and marine emerging industry agglomeration in the 11 Chinese coastal provinces varies greatly, with Guangdong, Shandong, and Shanghai at the top, Tianjin, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Liaoning and Fujian in the middle, while Hebei, Guangxi and Hainan at the bottom.
