Research On The Influence Of Digital Economy Development On Industrial Structure In Chengdu-chongqing Economic Circle

The world today is undergoing a digital transformation.Digital economy,as a new economic form with data as a factor of production,relies on modern information networks and information and communication technologies to deeply integrate with various industries,transforming and upgrading the industrial form into a network,digital and intelligent one,and has become a new driving force for the recovery of countries’ economies after the heavy downturn caused by COVID-19.China has clearly promoted the development of digital economy to a strategic height.As the fourth pole of China’s economic growth,Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle also regards digital economy as a key field of future development.In addition to the macro and micro levels,the research on the mechanism and path of digital economy promoting high-quality economic development at the medium measure has important theoretical and practical significance.At present,the conclusion of relevant literature shows that the influence of digital economy on industrial structure has great regional differences in terms of effect and path.Therefore,this study takes the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle strategy as the background and carries out research from the perspective of regional economy.On the premise of concept definition,this paper firstly analyzes the possible direct effect,mechanism path and spatial effect of digital economy development on the optimization and upgrade of industrial structure in Chengdu-Chongqing region from the theoretical perspective,and puts forward research hypotheses.Secondly,quantitative and qualitative analyses were carried out.The entropy method is used to measure the digital economy development level of 16 cities in Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle from 2010 to 2020 from the four dimensions of digital industrialization,industry digitalization,digital economy development carrier and digital economy development environment.It also quantifies the rationalization and upgrade of industrial structure in the same period.On this basis,this paper analyzes the development status of digital economy and industrial structure in Chengdu-Chongqing region.Finally,in order to verify the research hypothesis,the corresponding panel data is used to complete the empirical analysis.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)From 2010 to 2020,the digital economy in Chengdu-Chongqing region shows a momentum of rapid development,and the annual compound growth rate of the digital economy development index reaches 15.13%.However,the development among cities is unbalanced,showing a pattern of "Chengdu and Chongqing are strong,while other cities are weak".The gap mainly comes from digital industrialization and industry digitalization.(2)The industrial coordination degree of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle has been increasing,the rationalization degree of industrial structure has been steadily improved,the migration to the service industry has been fast,and the level of industrial structure upgrading has been improved rapidly.But due to the industrial base and productivity level,there is still a certain gap compared with the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration,which is also located in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.(3)The development of digital economy in Chengdu-Chongqing region can have a significant positive effect on the rationalization and upgrade of industrial structure.The development of digital economy can improve the level of technological innovation,promote residents’ consumption and promote the development of digital finance in Chengdu-Chongqing region,and improve the rationalization and upgrade of industrial structure through these three paths respectively.(4)The development of digital economy in Chengdu-Chongqing region can show positive spatial aggregation and spillover through the economic activities between cities.But the rationalization and upgrade of industrial structure are still in a state of random distribution,there is no significant spatial correlation,show that Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle fledgling economic construction,integration is still low.According to the research conclusions,this study puts forward the following suggestions for the development of digital economy in Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle:(1)Promote digital industrialization and improve the data factor market.(2)Deepening industrial integration and accelerating industrial digital transformation.(3)Improve the governance system and infrastructure construction to create a favorable environment for the development of the digital economy.(4)Improve the regional coordination mechanism and strengthen the integrated development of city circles.
