Agriculture,as the most fundamental and important component of national economic development, has provided the foundation and guarantee for the progress of various industries. At present,China’s agriculture is in a historical period of transformation towards high-quality development.Against the important background of entering a new stage of agricultural development, accelerating the high-quality development of agriculture has become a difficult task that we must undertake. From the current actual situation of agricultural production development in China, there are still many problems that need to be solved urgently. In recent years,China’s digital agriculture has begun to show great potential for development. The arrival of the new era of digital economy has provided new impetus for improving the quality and efficiency of agricultural production and accelerating the transformation of agricultural production in China. Therefore, studying the impact of the digital economy on the high-quality development of agriculture is of great significance. This article first defines and sorts out the concept, connotation, and impact mechanism of digital economy and high-quality agricultural development through reviewing relevant literature, and proposes research hypotheses; Then, from the three aspects of digital foundation, digital industrialization and agricultural digitalization,a set of evaluation index system on the development level of agricultural and rural digital economy is constructed.Based on the provincial panel data, the entropy weight method is used to calculate its comprehensive evaluation index, and the result is used to calculate the Theil index of the development level of digital economy to examine its regional differences;Based on the new development concept, from the perspective of innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing, build the evaluation index system of high-quality agricultural development level, use provincial panel data to calculate its comprehensive evaluation index, and analyze its spatial autocorrelation by calculating the Moran index;Using the calculated comprehensive index of high-quality agricultural development level as the dependent variable and the comprehensive index of digital economy development level as the explanatory variable,a spatial econometric model is constructed to quantitatively analyze the impact and spatial spillover effects of digital economy on high-quality agricultural development in China; Finally, based on the ranking of the comprehensive index of digital economy development level in various provinces and cities in China, the level of digital economy development is divided into different levels to study the regional heterogeneity of the impact of digital economy on high-quality agricultural development in different regions at different levels. The results of theoretical research and empirical analysis indicate that the development level of China’s agricultural and rural digital economy is showing a stable annual growth trend, and there are significant regional differences. The main reason for the differences is the uneven development between regions; There are significant differences in the comprehensive evaluation results of high-quality agricultural development levels across different dimensions, with the "shared development" dimension index significantly higher than other dimensions among the five dimensions; There is a very obvious positive spatial autocorrelation in the high-quality development level of agriculture in China, and there is a significant agglomeration phenomenon between regions; The empirical test results show that the digital economy plays a significant role in promoting the high-quality development of agriculture; In the short term, the impact between the two has a negative spatial spillover effect, that is,due to factors such as labor transfer, the improvement of a region’s digital economy development level will restrict the agricultural development of surrounding areas in the short term;In regions with different levels of digital economy development, there is heterogeneity in the impact between the two.In other words,in regions with higher levels, the further development of the digital economy will have a negative impact on agricultural development. In regions with medium to low levels of development, there is a significant positive impact, and in regions with lower levels, the impact is more significant; Finally, corresponding policy recommendations are proposed based on the conclusions obtained, providing a theoretical basis for the deep integration of digital economy and high-quality agricultural development. |
