| Digital technology put a profound impact on the international division of labor and the trade system. The high-tech industry dominated by information technology has broadened the boundaries of trade through intelligent terminals, mobile Internet, and cloud technology. In the era of big data, traditional statistical surveys have been upgraded to data.Mining,low-value repetitive work is handed over to machine learning, and the efficiency increases exponentially. At the same time, cultural product trade,as an important part of international trade, not only reflects the global acceptance of domestic culture, but also enhances the competitiveness and influence of domestic culture. The global outbreak of major public health events at the end of2019 accelerated the digitization of global industries, which also prompted companies to devote themselves to the process of accelerating digital transformation, including the transformation and upgrading of cultural industries. This paper selects relevant indicators from the perspectives of digital infrastructure and digital barriers to study the impact of digital level on the export scale of China’s core cultural products.Firstly, this paper reviews the overlapping demand theory, global value chain theory, consumption addiction theory and other theories closely related to cultural product trade, and analyzes the development of China’s cultural product trade over the past 20 years. The study finds that the overall development of China’s cultural product export It can be divided into three stages: explosive growth from WTO accession to2007,steady and small growth from 2008 to 2015,and weak growth since 2016 and a slight decline. This paper controls the per capita GDP of the trade target countries from the perspective of economic conditions, the immigration flow from the social structure perspective, the cultural distance from the cultural perspective, and foreign direct investment, using the trade target countries Internet penetration rate and digital trade restriction index as the core explanatory variables,This paper empirically studies the impact of digital infrastructure and digital barriers on the export of China’s core cultural products. The empirical part applies the extended gravity model, selects the 34 countries with the largest export scale of China’s core cultural products from 2000 to 2020,and collects panel data for empirical testing.Scale has a significant negative impact, while the level of digital infrastructure in trading partners has no significant impact on export scale. The samples are classified into two different latitudes, developed and developing economies according to economic level, and Latin,Islamic,Slavic,Indian and East Asian cultural circles according to different cultural circles.Through the empirical test of developed trading partner countries,a good fitting result has been achieved. The regression results show that the export scale of China’s core cultural products and the Internet penetration rate of trade target countries are significantly positive;while the digital trade restriction index of developing trading partner countries is significantly positive. The export of core cultural products is not significant, and the Internet penetration rate of trading partner countries is positively significant for the export of core cultural products.Regression results on the classification of cultural circles show that digital infrastructure and digital barriers have significant exports to trading partners in Latin and Islamic cultural circles, while only the digital trade restriction index has significant exports to trading partners in Slavic cultural circles.,for the trading partners of the Indian cultural circle, only the Internet penetration rate is significant for their exports. Finally, the full text is summarized and three suggestions are put forward, including strengthening international exchanges and cooperation with emerging economies, promoting domestic digital innovation, and strengthening intellectual property protection. |
