Digital Infrastructure And China’s Provincial Export

As an important part of “the Belt and Road” initiative,“Digital Belt and Road” is an organic combination of “the Belt and Road” and digital economy.It is China’s global plan for the common development of mankind in digital era.At present,China is in the initial stage of digital economy,and the primary task of digital transformation is the construction of digital infrastructure.This paper uses the panel data from 2011 to 2020 and the multi-dimensional fixed effect model to carry out empirical research on the impact of digital infrastructure on China’s provincial export trade.At the same time,take digital infrastructure as the mediator and digital talents as the moderator to explore the mechanism and path of its function.Through the above research,the main conclusions of this paper are as follows: First,from the perspective of “Digital Belt and Road”,digital infrastructure does have an obvious role in promoting China’s provincial export trade;Second,there is a mediation effect of technological progress,that is,digital infrastructure can promote China’s provincial export trade through technological progress;Third,there is a moderating effect of digital talents,that is,digital talents can play a positive moderating role in the impact of digital infrastructure on export trade;Fourth,the research results based on the key provinces and municipalities of “the Belt and Road”show that digital infrastructure has a significant positive effect on their export trade;Fifth,the research results based on geographical location show that digital infrastructure has a significant positive effect on export trade in the eastern,central and coastal regions of China;Sixth,the research results based on the level of economic development show that digital infrastructure has a significant positive effect on the export trade of regions with superior economic level and industrial structure in China.Based on this,this paper puts forward some policy suggestions from the national,regional and enterprise levels: China should vigorously build the digital infrastructure,focus on training digital talents,formulate a systematic plan for digital infrastructure,and improve the laws and regulations on digital trade;Provinces and municipalities should match the development of economic foundation and digital transformation,and coordinate the development of regional economy;Enterprises should support technology R&D and its own digital transformation,and optimize its talent structure.
