| In the Deep media era,our way of being is gradually shifting towards a liquid flow,as the offline study room with physical presence transitions to an online cloud self-study space with multiple presence created by technology.Self-study is gradually becoming virtualised,cloud-based,immersive,social,gamification,reshaping our learning scenarios,learning practices and physical and mental perceptions.Based on the new cloud self-study platform CoStudy,this paper analyses and elaborates on three dimensions of interactive ritual operation,operation process and interpretation results in the process of its gamified dissemination,with a view to understanding how the gamified dissemination method of cloud self-study allows users to participate in the high-intensity experience of interactive rituals,and ultimately satisfies the dual needs of users for self-study and entertainment.In this paper,after explaining the basic concepts of interactive ritual chain theory,cloud self-study and gamification communication of cloud self-study,we summarise the current communication types,typical platforms and reasons for the emergence of gamification communication of cloud self-study,and investigate the user profile of CoStudy cloud self-study platform,the interactive participation and satisfaction of users’ gamification communication through questionnaires and in-depth interviews.Then,using the interactive ritual chain theory as the research perspective,we combine the gamification communication characteristics of the CoStudy cloud self-study platform and explore the ritual interactive communication elements and premises of the CoStudy cloud self-study platform in four gamification dimensions: game context,game symbols,interactive socialization and game rules,and summarize its interactive process in gamification communication.It is found that this cloud self-study model can form a stable capital market for gamified self-study,a highly staged exhibition activates the imagination of individual identities,and the game mechanism continuously circulates to accumulate long-term emotional energy as well as to realise the identity and strengthening of the game community.Based on this,it is found that there are undesirable interaction behaviours in gamified cloud self-study,such as excessive gamification diluting users’ attention,individual cognitive blurring in virtual honour satisfaction,and partial fading of emotions between members.Based on this,the solution path is proposed,such as as the platform needs to increase the supervision of the access mechanism,adhere to humanistic care and abide by the edification function of knowledge in the operation process,and set a reasonable scale of gamification elements.Users should improve their media literacy in the process of using them,and schools should also do a good job of nurturing learning habits among young people.The study concludes that the gamified communication model of cloud self-study can serve to unite the emotional energy of the group and motivate users to form good self-study habits.However,at the same time,it is easy for users to develop a sense of competition in the game and lose sight of the original self-study nature. |
