| Disasters are always accompanied by the development of human society.Whether it is natural disasters such as earthquakes and floods,or man-made disasters such as the Prestige cruise accident and the Chernobyl nuclear power station accident,they all bring great harm to human beings and leave a thick ink in history.As time goes by,the river of history scours these memories,the trauma caused by disasters is slowly forgotten,and the warnings and values brought by these disasters are gradually disappearing.As one of the important “historical recorders”,the media is the link,bridge and platform to connect and communicate all human memories.It has the attribute and ability to retain information.Through the media,the past information and events can be reproduced and restored in reality as always.The media has also become an important carrier for restating and constructing memories of disaster events.As the first major public health emergency in the 21 st century,SARS has appeared in the public’s field of vision for the first time.<People’s Daily> has recorded and reported the history and memory of the Chinese people’s fight against SARS.This article takes the news report of the “SARS” event as the starting point,takes the media memory theory as the framework,and takes the <People’s Daily> as an example to classify and analyze the content of the news report,explore the characteristics and types of the media memory of the “SARS” report,and study the value and significance of the SARS memory in the present and future.The first part focuses on the collation and statistics of the content of the<People’s Daily> report on SARS,including news,communications,interviews and comments;this paper makes a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the reports on SARS in <People’s Daily>,and understands the overall situation of the reports on SARS in <People’s Daily> from the perspective of the number,the genre,the theme,the subject and the length of the reports.The second part analyzes the strategies of reporting SARS events according to the situation of <People’s Daily> reporting on SARS,and constructs the media memory of <People’s Daily> about “SARS” events from three aspects:comprehensive form of reporting,diversified theme selection and diversified rep orting subjects.The third part focuses on the characteristics and types of media memory in the construction of “SARS” reports,highlighting “hero memory”,“disaster memory” and“traumatic memory”,and studying the different roles played by the constructed media memory.At different levels,it has the value and significance of examining the past,paying attention to the present and shaping the collective identity.Finally,it summarizes and reflects on the “SARS” report in the <People’s Daily>,and analyzes that in the construction of memory,the <People’s Daily>should pay special attention to the timeliness of reporting,guide the positive development of public opinion,and improve the scope of public opinion dissemination;the second is to fully disclose information,respect the public’s right toknow,and reduce panic in the face of disasters;finally,we should pay attention to people-oriented in the report,respect for life,highlighting the glory of human nature. |
