Research On The Change Of The Concept Of Disaster Reporting In People's Daily Since The 1990s

China has been a difficult state since ancient times,and "man and disaster" has always been a topic that attracts wide attention.China,due to its special geographical location,has always been a country with frequent floods,and flood reporting,as a typical disaster report,is an important topic discussed in the news industry.Since the 1990s,China's political,cultural and economic environment has undergone tremendous changes,and Chinese journalism has made its third leap,and the dual nature of the media has become the social consensus.The new media develops rapidly,forming a powerful network public opinion field.The disaster news began to gradually become regularized and professional development path.After years of development and precipitation,our attitude towards disaster is stronger,rational and objective.Therefore,the transformation of the concept of disaster reporting is the inevitable result of social development and national thought progress,especially in the era of Internet new media.Floods in 1998 reported,for example,under the leadership of the party and the government at that time,the mainstream news media together,report content focus on promoting the disaster fighting spirit,people's information,and for the specific reason for the floods,disaster affected casualties,but there was no clear reports.During this period,the news media was more like a propaganda and mobilization tool for the relief and rescue work for the masses to do ideological purification work to better complete the relief work.By 2016,the rapid development in the new media under the background of economic globalization,the People's Daily in the face of the flood happened in the dialectical way of thinking,objective and rational attitude to report,to explore the causes of the disaster,tracking the aftermath of the disaster,shall be investigated for the responsibility of the people behind the natural disasters,think about the future disaster prevention measures,in a professional perspective,rational attitude of disaster message to the public in time,effectively guide public opinion.In June 2016,heavy rainfall and frequent flooding occurred in parts of southern China,causing huge losses of people and property and attracting extensive attention.News media become a very important channel for the people to understand the disaster,as China's communist party mouthpiece,one of the most authoritative mainstream media in China,the People's Daily in passing disasters,plays an important role in shaping public opinion,etc.So how does the People's Daily show the disaster in modern times?How is it different from the devastating floods in 1998?What are the causes of the two floods?What can we learn from the two years of flood reporting?These are the problems that this article attempts to solve.In this paper,based on the existing domestic disaster news report,on the basis of research in China's mainstream media in People's Daily as the research object,on two different historical periods of 1998 and 2016 floods reports comparing research,through content analysis and text analysis reports from disaster areas such as the number,length,source,content of two disaster coverage,especially the report presents the new characteristics of the flood in 2016 were analyzed,and summarizes the concept of disaster coverage change.Through the comparison of the author's findings:the People's Daily has changed the concept of disaster reporting in three directions:from disaster relief to scientific cognitive disaster;The concept of people-oriented is deepening in the report.The concept of harmony between man and man is turned into the harmonious concept of man and man.Ecological reflective reporting is the highlight of the 2016 flood report.Xi jinping in the party's general secretary 18 report put forward the concept of ecological civilization and be included in the "five one" the national strategic layout,the flood in 2016,the People's Daily reports show a new Angle of view,from the "respect for nature,natural" based on the concept of ecological civilization to rational scientific interpretation of the disaster,In addition,this paper analyzes the internal and external communication environment of the People's Daily and explores the reasons for the transformation of the two years' disaster reports.From the external social environment,the disaster report is mainly influenced by four factors:politics,economy,culture and technology.From the analysis of the content environment,the disaster report is also influenced by the media self-orientation and value orientation,the quality of the journalists and the professional consciousness,and the overall pattern of the industry.Reported in this paper,at the end of two flood are summarized and reflection,the author thinks that compared with the 1998 flood,the People's Daily reported in 2016 has made great progress,but there is still room for improvement,the disaster to adhere to the transparency of information timely report the disaster information and respond to negative information;Secondly,we should dare to innovate the mode of disaster reporting through technical means to improve the presentation of disaster reports.Finally,traditional media should strengthen the cooperation with new media and actively integrate into new media.The old and new media complement each other.In this way,we can firmly adhere to the public opinion position of the mainstream media and serve the public in a better way.
