Research On The Reporting Framework Of The Ebola Epidemic In West Africa By People's Daily(2014-2016)

With the development of The Times,the connection between the world countries is getting closer and closer,and how to deal with overseas disasters,has obviously become a problem that many countries must face.In early 2014,the Ebola outbreak erupted in West Africa,posing severe challenges to international public health safety.After the outbreak of the epidemic,countries around the world took the initiative to participate in helping West African countries fight against Ebola,and contributed to the final victory over the epidemic.As the Party newspaper and the most mainstream newspaper in China,the People's Daily,facing the Ebola epidemic abroad,actively publicizes and reports relevant elements in China and shows the image of a major country;on the other hand,it pays close attention to the relevant changes of domestic public opinion,actively popularize science,timely deny rumors,and maintain social harmony and stability.After research,the framework of Ebola epidemic reporting in West Africa has the following three characteristics: highlighting Chinese elements,publicizing national image;authoritative information,paying attention to true and objective;paying attention to disaster response,and maintaining social stability.The formation of these characteristics is closely related to politics,culture and information.China is a socialist country under the leadership led by the Communist Party of China and has special laws of news and communication.The media should actively publicize relevant elements of China and support the leadership of the Party with a clear banner.However,due to the limitation of regional and disaster nature,according to statistics,in the People's Daily report,the gap between the number of messages provided from different letter sources is large.On the basis of the existing framework,the author hopes that the People's Daily can improve in three aspects of balancing the reporting themes,focusing on the affected groups and improving the disaster response.This paper innovatively proposes the analysis method based on the corresponding group relationship,namely,using the obvious quantity gap between the corresponding groups.In addition,on the basis of the existing research,the paper also influences the information factors on the formation of the reporting framework,providing a new perspective for the relevant research.The deficiency of this paper is the lack of effective research and comparative research.This paper only does the relevant research on the epidemic reporting framework of the People's Daily,and it still needs to further explore whether the research results are applicable to other types of newspapers.
