Digital transformation is a key opportunity for smes to grow,become more competitive and adapt to the new business environment.In this context,digital transformation project schedule management is particularly important.Smes may face difficulties such as limited resources,insufficient technical level,rigid organizational structure and lack of experience when carrying out digital transformation project schedule management.Traditional schedule management methods are often too cumbersome and lengthy to adapt to rapidly changing needs and uncertainties.The Agile project management method,with its features of iterative development,emphasis on team cooperation,feedback and adjustment,customer-centric,provides a way to solve these problems.With the advent of the post-epidemic era,distributed and remote development of digital transformation projects has become the new normal for some enterprises.Although the existing literature provides valuable insights on the digital transformation projects of smes,there is a lack of relevant research on digital transformation projects under the scenario of online personnel communication and remote distributed development.This paper will explore how agile methods can be applied to the progress management of digital transformation projects with the characteristics of distributed and remote development,and summarize the process and verify the effect.The purpose of this study is to explore the practical effect of agile project management in the progress management of digital transformation software development projects in small and medium-sized enterprises through case studies.And through the research and analysis of the H sub-project in the digital transformation project of C Company,a set of targeted project schedule optimization scheme based on online remote development scenario was proposed,which achieved the goal of completing the requirements and satisfactory deliverables within the specified time,and significantly improved the company’s means and efficiency in the digital transformation project schedule management.This article will review the literature on traditional schedule management and agile project management,and analyze their advantages and disadvantages and applicable scenarios.Taking a specific SME digital transformation software development project as the case study object,this paper presents the difficulties and challenges encountered by traditional schedule management methods,and describes the improvement process and results after the introduction of agile project management methods in detail.Through this case study,the agile project management process of digital transformation software development projects of smes is revealed,difficulties and challenges are sorted out,project management methods and processes are summarized,and the adaptive effects of agile project management in the progress management of digital transformation projects of smes are verified,so as to provide experience sharing for other smes and promote the smooth progress of digital transformation.
