Facing the continuously changing market with fierce competition, the software industry is developing toward two directions: one direction is the traditional software development method represented by the waterfall approach;the other direction is the new development method famous for its agility. The agile method is a software engineering development method based on practice,and as an agile development, it is widely studied and has obtained broad concern with its high operability.In the previous ERP software R & D(research and development) project,there are many factors that might affect the software progress. The customer corporation might be unsure of the definition and scope of their requirement:before the software is available, the customer might be unclear of the software they really want, they generally require seeing the actual system to find their real requirement, and this kind of situation was common in the company’s previous ERP software programs; in addition, there might also be management problems, such as mistake in the progress schedule preparation and weak planning and monitoring, which might cause the delay or failure of progress.Furthermore, the company uses the traditional software development model,which has many shortages in handling the change in requirement, and plus the high complexity of ERP, it tends to cause the uncontrollability of program.In accordance with the complexity and diverse requirement of corporate ERP software, it is urgent to adapt to requirement and embrace change through effective management idea and method, so that the overall development process is always under a controlled state.By combining the author’s work practice, this paper has adopted the agile approach to optimize the progress management of company ERP software program.By adopting the agile process model and iterative program plan, through the optimization of organization, progress schedule, estimation model and plan monitoring, the purpose to embrace requirement change can be realized. By comparing the agile software R & D management method and the traditional software R & D method, we can see that the agile approach is more efficient in controlling the program cost and schedule, which is very suitable for thesoftware program with significant change of software requirement and unclear requirement definition. In accordance with the characteristics of corporate ERP software R & D program, the agile management concept and approach is adopted, which can not only effectively embrace change, but also improve the successful rate of program.By combining the author’s work practice, this paper has adopted the agile approach to optimize the progress management of company ERP software program.By adopting the agile process model and iterative program plan, through the optimization of organization, progress schedule, estimation model and plan monitoring, the purpose to embrace requirement change can be realized.
