Discourse Research Of Scientists’ News Reports In The New Era

Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC,socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era,and the role of scientific and technological innovation in social development is significant.The cause of science and technology has a very important strategic position and plays a very important strategic role in the cause of the Party and the people.Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC,the CPC Central Committee has attached great importance to the development of science and technology and the work of scientists.As an authoritative Party newspaper and a mainstream newspaper,People’s Daily has,under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee,thoroughly propagated the Party’s theories,lines,principles and policies,and enthusiastically reported the great practices of the people.Along the way,it has witnessed the development of national science and technology and the emergence of a large number of scientists.In this paper,487 reports about scientists in People’s Daily were selected from the 18th CPC National Congress to June 2022,namely the New Era,to establish corpora.It is based on the discourse analysis theory in the field of linguistics and the frame theory in the field of journalism and communication.Supported by Fairclough’s three-dimensional discourse analysis framework;With the jieba segmentation tool and AntConc corpus analysis tool;By using corpus analysis,content analysis and comparative analysis,and combining qualitative and quantitative analysis,this paper attempts to explore the presentation characteristics and discourse functions of the scientists’ news reports in People’s Daily in the New Era.The main content of this paper includes five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction,which introduces the research background,current situation,theoretical basis,research methods and so on;the second chapter defines and extracts the scientists’ news reports of People’s Daily in the New Era,and establishes corpora;The third chapter analyzes the words,titles and rhetoric of the scientists reports of People’s Daily in the New Era from the perspective of text,and summarizes the characteristics of micro discourse.The four chapter,starting from discourse production,explores the context of discourse production of scientists reports in People ’s Daily in the New Era and the positions and viewpoints conveyed by it through content analysis and intertextuality analysis.Chapter five focuses on the discourse changes of scientists’ reports in People’s Daily in the decade since the New Era and the decade before the New Era,and analyzes the relevant changes and their causes from the perspective of vertical comparison.on the basis of the analysis above,summarizes and expounds the discourse function and deficiency of scientists’ reports in People’s Daily since the New Era.It is found that since the New Era,People’s Daily scientists’ reports have focused on scientific innovation and development with vibrant scientific development environment,diversified content forms,and flexible expression methods and techniques.It presents the image of scientists bravely standing at the forefront of The Times in the New Era,and fully demonstrates the spirit of The Times that scientists love their country,seek truth,innovate,cooperate and educate people.Closely related to the theme of The Times,the strategy of making China strong in science and technology,the development of social contradictions,and the Marxist view of news are fully manifested in the New Era scientists reports;Scientists reports to boost the confidence of development,positive guidance of public opinion.At the same time,the new era scientists reports also presents some problems:some text expression has the tendency of pattern;The choice of the protagonist of the report is relatively limited.Only by paying more attention to the details of the text at the micro level and following the trend of The Times at the macro level can People’s Daily better maintain its credibility and authority and better serve the overall situation of national science and technology development.On the new journey,scientists’ news reports and the development process of science era need more positive interaction.
