| In recent years,depression has become one of the most common mental diseases in the global.According to the United Nations policy brief on COVID-19,it mentioned mental health issues released on 14 May 2020,"The COVID-19 pandemic has increased the risk of mental health problems for people around the world,with depression on the rise." According to estimates,China has more than 95 million people suffer from depression,depression has become one of the most common mental disorders worldwide,it seriously impact on People's Daily life.Therefore,this paper takes depression as the research topic,analyzes and sorts out related reports of depression on People's Daily Online,analyzes and studies related reports from the perspective of news discourse.As the same time,making analysis and discussion from the perspective of the characteristics of Party media on People's Daily Online.In this study,the reports on topics related to depression during the six years from January 1,2015 to December 31,2020 were collected as research samples.On this basis,a detailed study was carried out according to the discourse analysis theory.Through the research on the news discourse of depression reported by People's Daily Online,this paper finds that the current situation of the construction of depression discourse is affected by different aspects.Under the influence of social ideology,media power and social culture,the news media has obvious news tendency on the image of depression and the identity construction of patients with depression presented in the news text.Negative emotions are often used in news reports to report news related to depression.In the discourse practice,the content of news reports on depression is mostly didactic to highlight the authoritative views of official figures.In the news text,there is little direct or indirect use of folk discourse such as the depression patients themselves,which reflects the unequal discourse relationship between different groups in the reports.In addition,news content and social groups are selectively presented in the report on the depression group.At the same time,people's cognition of the bias towards depression is continuously constructed.When this awareness is reinforced,depressed people are pushed to the margins of the social order,leading to social exclusion,prejudice and discrimination.Therefore,the news media need to change the news discourse in the news report,re-establish the role of the media as the main body of communication,properly increase the psychological intervention in the news report and present the news discourse scientifically,justly and comprehensively. |
