At present,the information technology and network environment are constantly updating and changing,which has promoted the reform of higher education and the renewal of learning mode.The concept of higher education focusing on academic exchange has gradually changed the learning mode from receptive and individual to independent,research and cooperative.Learners have new needs for learning environment and learning mode,This makes the function,space and service orientation of the traditional university library can not meet the contemporary learning methods.Based on the background of the times,taking learning theory as the starting point and driven by learners’ needs,this paper explores the construction strategy of learning space in line with their behavioral characteristics and psychological needs,and completes the innovation of library space function on the basis of learner centered,so as to make the University Library show new educational connotation under the new background of the times,Become a multi-dimensional learning center to serve the diverse learning needs of students,and expect to have a certain reference value for the construction of learning space in the future.Firstly,through literature research,this paper expounds the concept of learning space,discriminates important learning theories,and the relationship between theory and learning space.What’s more,based on the needs of the construction and development of library learning space and meeting the needs of learners,this paper summarizes the commonalities and characteristics of university library learning space construction through field observation of Nanjing Forestry University Library,Li Wenzheng Library of Southeast University and Jiangning Library of Hehai University,and understands learners’ basic cognition of learning space through interviews,The internal relationship between learning behavior and learning space is preliminarily obtained,which lays a solid foundation for the construction of learning space.Secondly,carry out user questionnaire survey,start with the constituent elements of learning space(physical space,psychological space,resource allocation and service team),investigate the behavior and psychology of learners in the learning space of university library,so as to understand the learners’ demand for space,and summarize and analyze it from the perspectives of learning behavior,space demand and utilization.Finally,the implementation strategy of learning space in university library is completed.Based on the existing problems in the construction of learning space,this paper puts forward four principles of "people-oriented",diversity,comfort and integrity,and then discusses the construction of learning space in today’s University Library from four aspects: physical learning space demand,psychological learning space demand,space resource allocation demand and service team demand: overall learning space planning and layout Pay attention to the privacy and domain of learning space,strengthen resource allocation and service team construction,so as to provide theoretical guidance and ideas for the construction of learning space.
