| The number of disabled people in China ranks first in the world.Therefore,the disabled group is the group with the largest number and the most obvious problem among the vulnerable groups in society.As China’s social security system for disabled groups is not perfect,due to the limitations of physiological conditions,the ability of disabled people to take care of themselves will be subject to multiple obstacles,and various problems will be exposed in the process of social participation.Under the inheritance of traditional cultural concepts in the past,the family caregivers of the disabled have become the most important care role,and the care work involves all aspects of life.The family caregivers of the disabled have to face the economic,physiological and psychological burden brought by the disabled and various difficulties in social communication.As a special kind of caregivers for the disabled,the elderly caregivers of adult children with severe disabilities will face more difficulties and pressure because most of the caregivers are the elderly.Therefore,it is a very urgent task to help the elderly caregivers of families with severe disabilities to alleviate their plight.It is also an important part of promoting social development,and has gradually become a concern of all sectors of society.This paper attempts to use the method of case work to intervene in the elderly caregivers of severely disabled families,alleviate their difficulties and improve their quality of life.Firstly,this study selects five disabled family caregivers in G city for in-depth interview.The results of the interviews show that family caregivers face physical,psychological,economic and social difficulties when caring for people with disabilities,and have great needs for material,spiritual and social interaction.Secondly,the author selects two elderly caregivers of severely disabled families as examples,takes social support theory and ecosystem theory as the theoretical basis,uses the professional practice method of case work to intervene in the plight of elderly caregivers of severely disabled families,and combines the environment of the case owner to intervene from the aspects of the case owner’s health needs,emotional counseling needs,social communication needs,etc,As a result,we worked together with the case owner to formulate the service plan and objectives,and helped the case owner alleviate the current difficulties by relieving the pressure and emotion of the case owner,building an emotional support network and obtaining external resources.Finally,we reflected and summarized the practice of the case work involved in the elderly caregivers of severely disabled families. |
