Case Work Intervention Of Disabled Elderly Family Caregivers From The Perspective Of Empowerment

Since China entered the aging society in 1999,the proportion of the elderly population has increased significantly,and the problem of family care for the disabled elderly has gradually attracted wide attention.This study is to use the method of social work case to help the family caregivers of disabled elderly people get out of the predicament from the perspective of Empowerment theory.Through thinking about the practice process and results of social work cases,this paper verifies the validity of the application of the theory of empowerment in the service of family caregivers for disabled elderly people.The results of this study will promote the professional development of pension social work.From the perspective of social work,this paper evaluates the needs of the service objects in the early stage.Combined with the four aspects of the needs of the service object,guided by the empowerment theory,combined with cognitive behavior theory and social support theory,ten case service activities are designed,which are divided into three levels: psychological,skill and environment.Through a series of services,such as providing psychological support for the service objects,promoting the service objects’ self-awareness,helping the service objects enhance self-confidence,and helping her learn and improve family care skills.At the end of the project,social workers made a comprehensive evaluation of the research through the comparison of test scales and interviews.The result of the evaluation is: the service object has released the pressure,established the effective social support network,learned the systematic and professional family care skills,and finally achieved the goal of helping the service object to solve the family caregiver dilemma.To solve the dilemma of disabled elderly family caregivers,its need the attention of the government and the community.In this regard,the author puts forward the following suggestions: we need to build a social support network for family caregivers,improve the training system of care knowledge,and constantly strengthen the connection between community workers and individual residents,so as to provide a replicable and promotable reference model for the future research on improving the ability of disabled elderly family caregivers.
