| With the deepening of economic globalization and the rapid development of information technology,enterprises have been using information management software represented by the SAP system to improve their business management capabilities to enhance their international competitiveness.ELC,a large multinational animal health company headquartered in the United States,has become the second largest animal health company in the world through the acquisition of NH Animal Health and BY Animal Health Co.With the business acquisition,to ensure complete coverage of the SAP system to the business,ELC company SAP system implementation project also followed company SAP system implementation project phase I using the traditional waterfall project management,phase I project although successfully online,but phase I project from the demand satisfaction rate,problem processing efficiency,master data management,user satisfaction and other aspects in urgent need of change and improvement.The project management finally decided to implement the Phase II project with the agile project management approach,trying to solve and optimize the problems in the Phase I project with agile project management.This thesis takes the SAP system implementation project management of ELC as the research object and introduces the research background,research method,innovation point of the thesis,the development history of waterfall project management and agile project management,Scrum method and Kanban method in agile project management respectively.The thesis summarizes and concludes the organizational structure issues,management process issues,requirements management issues,and development management issues during the implementation of waterfall project management in the Phase I project.The thesis also describes in detail the application of agile project management in the Phase II project.The Phase II project solved the problems in several aspects such as organizational structure,management process,requirement process,and development process concentrated in Phase I project by using the Scrum method to establish the Scrum team,streamline the management process,iteratively update requirements,and optimize development process by iteration + Kanban method.The successful application of agile project management not only solved the problems in the project implementation process of ELC but more importantly,through the evaluation and analysis of the project,innovatively proposed a set of information technology project management solutions that can be applied in the animal health industry.ELC’s practice of agile project management has shown that agile project management applied to the implementation of SAP projects in animal health companies can quickly respond to frequent changes in business and enhance the communication and collaboration of team members.The success of the second phase of the project has boosted ELC’s confidence to continue optimizing agile project management and has increased the management’s determination to extend this project management practice model to other projects in the company.This thesis examines in detail the problems of implementing the SAP system with traditional waterfall project management and the implementation ideas of adopting the agile project,which is a reference for managers who are ready to implement the SAP system or companies who are ready to transform from waterfall project management to agile project management. |
