Research Of Community Social Work Involvement Practices In Community Integration Of The Migrant Elderly

With the rapid advancement of China’s urbanization process,the number of floating populations has grown rapidly.Due to the imbalance in regional economic development,many young couples choose to leave their hometowns to work and live in other places,which derived a special group of people called “he migrant elderly”.After the migrant elderly arrive in the new community environment,they must go through a process of social integration,re-familiarize with the new community environment,and construct new social relationships.In recent years,both the state and the community have attached great importance to social governance,and the community is the “last mile” of social governance.It has become a social issue that both the state and the society pay attention to solve the rapid transition of the “migrant elderly” from influx to integration into new communities.This study mainly selects the migrant elderly with the newly built commercial housing communities nearby the Shenzhen area as the research object.Residents of newly-built urban commercial housing communities come from all over the country,and they are relatively unfamiliar with each other.The relationship between residents is relatively alienated.It is difficult for the elderly who have just arrived in this type of community to actively integrate.In the context of urbanization,the problem of the migrant elderly in this community is universal and representative.This study takes Community A in Dayawan,Huizhou City,Guangdong Province as an example.By exploring the integration status and social integration needs of the migrant elderly in Community A,this study collects research materials by means of questionnaire survey,direct interview,and participatory observation.From three dimensions of psychological integration,social integration and cultural integration,this study analyzes the integration status of the migrant elderly in community A and their needs for community integration.Community development model of community social work method is adopted to carry out the practical research on community integration of the migrant elderly,and the practical experience of community integration of the migrant elderly is summarized: Firstly,carry out community education from the common needs of the migrant elderly,help the elderly to learn new knowledge and skills,and improve their own abilities;Secondly,Link internal and external resources in the community to carry out a variety of activities for the elderly such as good-neighborly services,build a community support network with regular activities,drive the migrant elderly to participate in community activities,use activities as a link to promote rapid ice breaking of interpersonal relationships,and shorten the psychological distance between the migrant elderly;Finally,dig out the backbone of the elderly who have moved,cultivate activity organizations for the elderly in the community,advocate the creation of community culture and other services,optimize the community environment,and truly realize the transition from inflow to integration of the migrant elderly.The first-line practice research found that the intervention of the community development model in the community social work method in the community integration of the migrant elderly has achieved relatively remarkable results,and to a certain extent solved the integration dilemma of the migrant elderly community,which is mainly reflected in the improvement of the community integration of the migrant elderly.The subjective wishes of the elderly migrants have enhanced their sense of identity with the community,enhanced their awareness of community participation,and preliminarily verified the effectiveness of the path of intervention in the practical research of migrant elderly under the community development model.With the help of social work methods,this study takes targeted measures to help the migrant elderly integrate into the community,which is of great significance to improving the quality of life of the migrant elderly and practicing “Active Aging”elderly care services,and helps to improve community governance at the grassroots level efficiency,building a harmonious and beautiful community.Through the practical research on the migrant elderly group,from the professional level of social work,the strategy of helping the migrant elderly to improve community adaptation can help us recognize and understand this group more clearly,and respond to the local social work in the community migrant elderly service.It provides some experience for reference and replication for social workers.
