Labor education is one of the important contents for the overall development of students’ moral,intellectual,physical and aesthetic education in the new era.However,in school education,the status of labor education is obviously lower than moral education,intellectual education,physical education and aesthetic education,and its nurturing value has been marginalized.after 2015,the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core reaffirmed the nurturing value of labor education,elevating it to the same important nurturing status as the other four education,and promulgated the Opinions on Strengthening Labor Education in Primary and Secondary Schools and the Guideline for Labor Education in Primary and Secondary Schools in 2020,successively.In April 2022,the Ministry of Education promulgated the "Compulsory Education Biology Curriculum Standards(2022 Edition)",which requires biology teachers to implement labor education.In response to this background,this study designs labor education teaching practice activities based on junior high school biology and explores labor education teaching cases based on junior high school biology in order to enhance students’ labor awareness,improve their labor ability,and promote the spirit of labor,as well as to broaden the ways of labor education and help the development of labor education.Based on theoretical knowledge of junior high school biology,labor as a bridge,and education as the purpose,this study was conducted through literature research method,interview method,and questionnaire survey method,and learned that in terms of teachers,there are problems such as insufficient understanding of labor education,difficulty in carrying out practical activities of biology and labor education,inactive implementation of labor education,and difficulty in changing the concept of emphasizing intellectual education over labor education;in terms of students,there are problems such as lack of labor practice,lack of labor consciousness and labor ability,and lack of opportunities for students to work.As for students,there are problems such as lack of labor practice opportunities,insufficient labor awareness and labor ability,but students generally desire to carry out labor practice activities in biology.In view of the above situation,the author selected the upper book of the eighth grade of biology of the Human Education version,sorted out the labor education elements contained in it,summarized the application of theoretical knowledge of biology in labor practice,and carried out the teaching design based on labor education in junior high school biology.In addition,the research team selected two classes of X Middle School in Yunnan Province and practiced "making Chinese sweet white wine","making traditional kimchi" and "making handmade thick yogurt".Three teaching designs were designed.The results of labor education were evaluated through process evaluation scale,students’ reflections,and food festival work assessment.Based on the above research contents and practice results,the design and practice of labor education in junior high school biology can promote the organic integration of labor education and biology subjects,enrich the cases of labor education practice activities;correct students’ labor dynamics,enhance students’ labor motivation,strengthen students’ labor awareness,cultivate students’ labor ability,promote labor spirit,and promote students’ practical application of biological knowledge.Indeed,labor education has a nurturing value.
