Based on meeting the needs of developing high-quality socialist builders and successors who are well-rounded in morality,intelligence,physical health,arts,and labor for the new era,the Biology curriculum standards explicitly propose to cultivate such individuals and embody the comprehensive development view through labor education as a part of education.This study selected some students from four high schools as research subjects for a questionnaire survey to understand the current status of labor education from three aspects: school,family,and society.It also investigated the cultivation of labor concepts from four dimensions: labor cognition,labor attitude,labor emotion and labor values.Additionally,teachers were interviewed to comprehensively understand the current situation.The study found that the current high schools have a weak emphasis on labor education,and students have some deviations in their labor concepts.While many teachers recognize the importance and approaches of labor education,the implementation is challenging due to the existing reality.Through cause analysis of management subjects,implementation subjects,and participation subjects,teaching strategies were proposed,and relevant situations were created to infuse labor concepts into Biology teaching in high schools.Based on the proposed teaching strategies and curriculum standards,the teaching objectives were optimized;labor concept materials were excavated based on the curriculum content,and relevant situations were created according to teaching principles.Using the Biology Learning Motivation Scale as the basis,experimental and control classes were selected for differential teaching.The experimental class incorporated labor concept contents in their teaching through situations,while the control class received regular teaching without labor-related vocabulary.After the teaching experiment,the labor concept data of the experimental class was compared and analyzed,and the Biology learning motivation data of the experimental and control classes.The results showed that:(1)Infusing labor concepts can help improve students’ labor concept level,develop correct labor cognition,correct labor attitude,stimulate labor emotion,and establish labor values.(2)Infusing labor concepts can help enhance students’ Biology learning motivation and promote Biology learning.(3)Infusing labor concepts can help comprehensively develop students’ overall quality. |
