The Practical Study On Integrating Labor Education Into Biology Curriculum Of Junior High School

With the development of globalization,problems such as low labour competency and indifference to labour awareness have become increasingly prominent.Cultivating labour literacy among junior secondary students is both a requirement of the Compulsory Education Curriculum Standards for Biology(2022 Edition)and an important element in promoting students’ all-round development.The study adopts the literature research method,interview method,questionnaire survey method and case teaching method.On the basis of a profound interpretation of the connotation of labour education,243 students from secondary school F in H city and 35 front-line biology teachers from district B in H city are selected as the investigation subjects to conduct an in-depth study on the current situation of integrating labour education in junior high school biology teaching,analyse the problems existing in it,propose corresponding.The study also analyses the problems,proposes corresponding teaching strategies,and designs representative teaching cases that can cultivate students’ labour literacy,so as to provide some theoretical basis and practical reference for the integration of labour education in junior high school biology curriculum.Firstly,the concepts of labour,labour education and labour literacy were defined based on literature reading,and a questionnaire was prepared based on the labour literacy framework,and a questionnaire survey and statistical analysis of the results were carried out.The results show that most junior high school students have a good concept of labour and labour spirit,and hope that labour education can be integrated into the biology curriculum,but some students have a problematic understanding of the connotation of the value of labour,a low ability to design and create labour,and a lack of initiative and enthusiasm for labour;teachers are generally aware of the importance of enhancing students’ labour literacy for their overall development,teachers are generally aware of the importance of enhancing students’ labour literacy to their overall development,but due to the influence of practical factors such as class time and teaching pressure,they lack the energy and time to fully explore labour education materials,and the teaching and practice activities permeated with labour education are relatively few and less efficient.Secondly,in response to the problems of “unclear labour education content” and“incomplete curriculum evaluation system” found in the current survey,this study digs deeper into the labour education content involved in the teaching materials of the Su Education version of Junior High School Biology,and proposes principles and teaching strategies for integrating labour education in junior high school biology teaching.The main teaching principles are:(1)the principle of teaching biology as the main subject;(2)the principle of students as the main subject;(3)the principle of practicability.The teaching strategies are mainly:(1)to deeply interpret the content of the teaching materials and explore labour education materials;(2)to reasonably create teaching situations and enhance students’ labour experience;(3)to learn from history and cultivate students’ labour concepts;(4)to carry out biology experiments and cultivate students’ scientific labour spirit;(5)to enhance teachers’ labour literacy and give play to teachers’ dominance;(6)to pay attention to the diversity of assessment methods.Finally,two classes of students with similar levels of labour literacy in secondary school F in city H were selected as the subjects of the study.Two teaching cases focusing on cultivating students’ labour literacy were initially drawn up for “Plants need water and inorganic salts for growth” and “The discovery of photosynthesis in plants”,and after a semester of teaching practice,the experimental effects of the experimental classes and the control classes were compared by questionnaire and interview methods.The results show that the integration of labour education into the junior high school biology curriculum can not only enhance students’ interest in learning,but also significantly improve students’ “labour concept”,“labour ability” and “labour spirit”,and extremely significantly improve students’ “labour habits and qualities”.
