After the 18 th National Congress,the Opinions on Comprehensively Strengthening Labor Education in Primary and Secondary Schools in the New Era drew great attention nationwide and made labor education a compulsory subject.It is included in the curriculum system of primary and secondary schools.In the overall development of human beings,labor education is conducive to the cultivation of a well-rounded person.The primary and secondary school stage is a critical period for students to form correct values,and secondary school biology,as a basic natural subject,assumes an important role in cultivating students’ labor skills,labor values and labor knowledge.Therefore,grasping the position of secondary school biology classroom teaching and integrating labor education into the biology classroom broadens the practical path of biology teaching.In this paper,questionnaires and interviews were conducted to investigate the current status of labor education and the integration of labor and secondary school biology.Three teaching practices were attempted in the study around labor education.Practice one was the reproduction and development of insects.Before this lesson,the teacher assigned students to buy caterpillars and observe their growth and development process at home,which cultivated students’ interest in the integration of labor and biology by allowing them to experience and observe it first-hand.Practice 2is the reproduction and development of birds.Before the class,students were given sterilized tweezers,scissors and a magnifying glass,and each student was asked to bring a disposable water cup,a piece of plastic wrap and a fresh egg to observe the structure of chicken eggs in class.During the students’ operation,the teacher patrolled and guided the students,and when the students’ experiment was finished,the teacher asked group representatives to analyze the structure of chicken eggs,and if the answers were not complete,the After the experiment,the teacher asks the group representatives to analyze the structure of the chicken eggs,and if the answers are not complete,the group members are invited to add them.Practice 3 is the transmission of genes between parents and children.Students prepare the materials for the experiment before class and make a DNA model in class.Also,the teacher will make the models before class and show and explain them in class.Traditional teaching was applied in all control classes.By infiltrating labor education in the classroom,teachers have developed initial experience with the integration of labor education and biology teaching.It is found that integrating labor education into the biology classroom can achieve the expected goals,help improve students’ learning enthusiasm,class participation and interest in learning biology,enhance students’ biological literacy,and promote students’ overall development,and the integration of labor education in the biology classroom is loved by students.Therefore,it is worthwhile for biology teachers to do further research on how to better integrate labor education into biology classrooms. |
