In recent years,labor education has become a hot topic of concern for all walks of life as the state vigorously advocates the development of labor education and its related policies.2018,General Secretary Xi made an important statement at the National Education Conference,advocating "five types of education" and including labor education in the general program of talent training.Labor education plays a key role in promoting students’ overall development.With a correct view of labor,students can appreciate the meaning and hardships of labor,cherish the fruits of labor,respect working people,and promote all-round development of individuals.As an important carrier of education in compulsory education,language textbooks are rich in chapters related to the concept of labor,so they are important for cultivating students’ correct cognition of labor,positive emotion of labor and firm will to work.At present,scholars at home and abroad have made some achievements on labor education and labor concept education,but most of them focus on studying college students,high school students and vocational high school student groups,and seldom care about labor concept education of elementary school students.Therefore,this study uses questionnaires,interviews and textual analysis to understand the current situation of labor concept among middle elementary school students and to investigate the penetration status of labor concept in middle elementary school language teaching.First,we studied the Language Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)to find out the relevant connections between language teaching and labor concept education in the middle elementary school,and deeply explored the materials related to labor concept in the language teaching materials of the middle elementary school.Secondly,through questionnaires and interviews with teachers and students in the middle section of elementary school H in Y city,we understand the current situation of students’ labor concept and the penetration of labor concept education in language teaching.The survey found that the following problems exist in students’ labor concept:students’ labor cognition is one-sided and utilitarian;labor emotions are not positive;and the spirit of selflessness and hard work is missing.On the teachers’ side,there are problems such as teachers’ shallow awareness of labor concept penetration simple and mechanical forms and methods of labor concept penetration,single evaluation method and poor labor concept penetration effect.The main reasons for the above problems are:on the school side,the rules and regulations of labor concept penetration are not perfect,which makes language teachers’ attitude toward labor concept penetration in teaching lax;schools neglect theoretical education of students’ labor concept,and schools focus on simple labor practice,which makes students’ understanding of labor one-sided;language teachers are not provided with a platform to learn to penetrate labor concept.On the teachers’ side,teachers do not pay attention to the penetration of labor concept education in language teaching,considering it optional and neglecting the cultivation of students’ labor concept;they do not fully explore the labor concept elements in language teaching materials,which hinders the penetration of labor concept;they ignore the connection between language curriculum and labor concept education,and most teachers think there is no connection between language teaching and labor concept education.As for students,the cognitive characteristics of middle elementary school students lead to insufficient knowledge of labor concept,and some parents’ education style of emphasizing achievement over labor are affecting the penetration of labor concept in teachers’teaching.Based on the above problems,influencing factors,and the characteristics of the titles of middle-grade language textbooks,this study proposes the following strategies:first,schools should increase their support,improve the institutional guarantee of labor concept infiltration,increase the education of students’ theoretical knowledge of labor concept,and strengthen the campus culture to create a good atmosphere for labor concept infiltration;second,to play the leading role of teachers,elementary school language teachers should not only establish the concept of subject infiltration They should also promote the cultivation of students’ labor concept by exploring the labor concept resources in the teaching materials,using various teaching methods and innovative labor practice activities;third,pay attention to the joint education of home and school,and form the integration of labor education for elementary school students in home and school.Finally,through the design,implementation,evaluation and reflection of the teaching cases,the effectiveness of the strategy of infiltrating labor concept in middle elementary school language teaching is verified.The results show that it is feasible and effective to infiltrate labor concept in middle elementary school language teaching,which is conducive to stimulating students’ interest in learning labor concept,awakening their labor consciousness and improving their labor spirit.
