Private colleges and universities are an important part of China’s higher education.After decades of development,their scale has gradually increased,and they have trained and delivered a large number of application-oriented talents with professional skills for China.To some extent,they have also provided reform ideas for public colleges and universities,and promoted the comprehensive development of China’s higher education.However,in the development process of private colleges and universities,it has been accompanied by the problems of difficult retention of teachers and serious brain drain.The faculty is the core competitiveness of a school.The loss of teachers has seriously restricted the sustainable development of private colleges and universities.This article takes full-time teachers from S College in S Province as the research object,and combines the specific situation of the province to conduct in-depth research on the current situation,characteristics,and reasons for teacher turnover in S College using methods such as literature research,questionnaire surveys,and interviews.The reasons for teacher turnover are mainly manifested in three aspects.From a social perspective,policies and regulations are not perfect,and there is insufficient protection for teachers in private universities.At the same time,there is also a certain bias among the public towards private universities;From the perspective of school management,various management systems are not suitable for the current development of the school,and there are objective and unfair phenomena in the implementation process;From a personal perspective,teachers lack a sense of belonging and responsibility towards the school,as well as family considerations,which are all the reasons for the loss of teachers in private universities.In response to these factors,the article is based on incentive theory and job satisfaction theory.Finally,improvement strategies to reduce teacher turnover are proposed from the social,school,and individual levels,including clarifying the social status of private schools,establishing sound laws and regulations to protect the rights and interests of teachers in private universities.Private universities should improve various management systems,establish a more fair salary system,and a scientific assessment system With a diversified training system and effective incentive mechanisms,teachers should also clarify their own understanding and positioning,and establish a sense of responsibility for teaching and educating peopleThe research conclusion not only helps S College to reduce the number of teachers’ loss,strengthen the construction of teachers’ team,and improve the competitiveness of the school,but also provides reference and reference for the same type of private colleges and universities in the same region to control the loss of teachers. |
