| Life science is one of the six basic subjects of natural science.In the 2017edition(revised in 2020)of the General High School Biology Curriculum Standards,it is mentioned that "Biology teaching should also pay attention to the introduction of relevant career status and development trends,so as to lay the necessary foundation for students to choose their study and career directions." High school students face the choice of employment and further study when they graduate,therefore,infiltrating career education in high school biology teaching not only meets the requirements of curriculum standards but also satisfies the needs of high school students.Then,enhancing students’ career maturity,interest in learning biology,core literacy in biology and understanding of biology through high school biology career education is one of the current research directions of biology teaching.This study examined the theory and practice of high school biology career education,starting from the classroom,teaching materials and curriculum standards of high school biology.Using the biology teachers of two general high schools in Mianxian County,Hanzhong City,Shaanxi Province and the sophomore students of Wuhou Middle School as the research subjects,we analyzed the current situation of career education in high school biology through questionnaires;based on reviewing literature,communicating with other teachers,combining personal teaching practice and sorting out the knowledge resources of textbooks,we proposed an optimized teaching strategy for career education;using the sophomore students of Wuhou Middle School in Mianxian County as teaching practice objects,we designed teaching principles and teaching cases of high school biology career education that have universal applicability and can be learned from.The following findings were obtained from the study:1.Through a survey on the current situation of teachers’ career education,it is found that most teachers think career education is very important,but they have not tried it because of the lack of guidance of relevant theories and reference of typical cases.A few teachers try to infiltrate career education into the classroom,but due to the lack of clear teaching objectives and teaching strategies,they carry out teaching at will based on their personal experience.2.A survey on the current situation of career education among students showed that students’ awareness of themselves,their awareness of careers,their awareness of the division of arts and sciences,and their status of career planning are all poor;the students think that the school rarely carries out the relevant content of career education;at the same time,students think it is necessary to provide career education,and they are looking forward to getting career education in biology.3.Relying on a total of five books,two compulsory and three optional compulsory high school biology textbooks of the Human Education version,combined with the Chinese Occupational Classification Dictionary(2015 edition),classroom observations of front-line teaching and personal teaching practice,we analyzed and organized the knowledge resources related to career education in the textbooks,established teaching principles,teaching strategies and teaching cases of career education,and provided real and effective references for the implementation of career education.4.Through the teaching practice of career education in high school biology,a comparative study was conducted in terms of students’ career maturity,interest in learning biology,core literacy in biology,understanding of biology,and test scores in biology.The results found that there was an improvement in all of these aspects after the infiltration of career education in biology teaching compared with the traditional teaching mode.The results of the study indicate that the implementation of career education in high school biology is necessary and feasible.The teaching strategy of career education constructed by this topic has strong implementation,and can improve the students’ professional maturity,biological interest,biological core quality, understanding of biology and biological examination results to varying degrees by creating teaching situations of career education,carrying out teaching activities of career education,arranging homework of career education and other teaching strategies. |
