Career education is a comprehensive education plan and system for students’ career development.With the rapid development of our social economy,having career awareness and building career planning is the important premise of students’ scientific growth and development.Junior high school is the basic stage of students’ knowledge learning.Actively carrying out career education at this stage can not only promote students’ learning with career ideals,but also help students establish practice-oriented learning logic.However,in the current junior high school biology teaching,teachers generally pay more attention to students’ grasp of biological knowledge and core concepts,but ignore the guiding and promoting effect of career education on students’ learning.Biology in junior high school is a basic subject to guide students to understand life phenomena and the law of life activities.It is widely used in agriculture,forestry,medicine and health,environmental protection and many other fields.For the future employment of junior high school students,biology course is of great value.Through the development of career education,teachers can help students establish comprehensive career development goals and form self-planning consciousness,which is not only an important goal of junior high school biology course teaching,but also a realistic teaching demand under the background of the times.Through the analysis of the status quo of junior high school biology career education,this study hopes to clarify the problems and effects of current teaching,and then put forward effective strategies for the development of career education.Firstly,through theoretical research,based on the analysis of the concept and connotation of career education,this paper discusses the development objectives and teaching significance of career education in junior biology courses.Secondly,by means of questionnaire survey and interview,this paper investigates and analyzes the current development status of career education in Sandi Middle School of Baoji City,summarizes the problems and causes of problems,and then discusses the teaching practice strategies according to the basic objectives of career education.This study conducted the first practical activity of career education at Sandi Middle School,infiltrating the concept of career education into the specific teaching process of junior high school biology,and analyzing the effectiveness of student performance and the development of five dimensions related to career education: knowledge,content,interest,cognition,and behavior.Finally,countermeasures and suggestions were proposed.The main research results are as follows:(1)Although infiltration career education in biology teaching in junior high school has been highly recognized by teachers in Sandi Middle School,there are problems such as superficial,passive,and insufficient implementation of special activities in actual implementation;(2)The content of the biology textbook for junior high schools published by the People’s Education Press contains abundant career education materials,but the combination of career planning methods and scientific knowledge,understanding the importance of career,actively developing career construction through learning,career learning,and actively exploring interests is inadequate;(3)In terms of student’s development,specialized career education helps to improve students’ academic performance,promote the development of students’ career interests,cognition and knowledge,also narrow the gap between different students;(4)Career education of biology in Junior high school needs to be implemented differently based on specific content;According to the research results,this paper proposes the following solutions for how teachers should integrate career education into junior biology teaching:(1)Carrying out multi-channel penetration with career education special activities as the core;(2)Paying attention to the dynamic analysis of students;(3)Setting up school-based courses for career education and establishing a complete career education plan.
