The theme of unit 4 of the first volume of the compulsory Chinese textbook for senior high school compiled by the Ministry is “Hometown Cultural Life”.This unit belongs to the”contemporary cultural participation”learning task group which points to help students to understand the people or things in their hometown,improve students’ awareness of participation in their hometown cultural life and enhance their cultural self-confidence.This paper takes Wuyue poems as the object to conduct a research on the unit teaching of "Hometown Cultural Life",aiming to deepen students’ understanding of hometown culture in Wuyue area,actively participate in hometown cultural life,awaken students’ sense of pride and mission awareness in hometown culture and national culture,and enhance students’ cultural self-confidence.Based on the Wuyue poems in the Chinese textbooks,this paper lists Wuyue poems outside the textbooks that are suitable for local learning conditions.Integrating Wuyue poems inside and outside the class and focusing on the local cultural characteristics of Songjiang,the specific design of the "Hometown Cultural Life" unit teaching was carried out.Thus,this paper puts forward suggestions for the unit teaching of "Hometown Cultural Life" and analyzes its significance.The paper is composed of four parts.The first part is the introduction of this paper,which analyzes and explains the basis of the thesis,research significance,current research status,and research methods.The second part defines Wuyue poetry,analyzes Wuyue poems in textbooks,and lists Wuyue poems outside the textbooks according to the selection basis.The third part analyzes the implementation strategy,teaching content,and practical activity design of unit teaching according to the unit teaching requirements of "Hometown Cultural Life”,and designs a"Hometown Cultural Life" unit teaching example that conforms to local characteristics according to the regional characteristics of Songjiang and combined with specific practical activities.The fourth part puts forward some suggestions on the in-class teaching and practical activities of the"Hometown Cultural Life" unit and analyzes the significance of this unit teaching with Wuyue poems as the object.
