Focusing on core competencies in ancient poetry teaching is an important concept of the new curriculum reform.However,current junior high school ancient poetry teaching places more emphasis on exam oriented education and does not attach importance to the cultivation of core competencies.Therefore,this article combines core competencies with the teaching of ancient poetry and lyrics in junior high school,striving to eliminate exam oriented shortcomings and reform the teaching of ancient poetry and lyrics.This article first clarifies the relevant concepts of "Chinese core literacy" and "junior high school ancient poetry teaching",explores the teaching objectives of ancient poetry teaching from the perspective of core literacy.Then,in order to understand the current situation of ancient poetry teaching in junior high school,this article uses a questionnaire survey method to understand the teaching situation of ancient poetry in junior high school,and finds the problems in the current teaching of ancient poetry:One is the single teaching mode,which makes it difficult to stimulate students’interest in learning;The second is to directly instill poetic meaning,lacking students’exploration.The third is to emphasize memorization and silent writing,neglecting the language rules of ancient poetry.The fourth is to have too much substitution experience,neglecting students’ independent aesthetic appreciation of ancient poetry.These problems are caused by the lack of literacy among teachers,the simplification of teaching methods and methods,and the weak awareness of cultural inheritance.In response to the above shortcomings,this article proposes four major improvement strategies:firstly,carry out more cultural education on ancient poetry and lyrics,and precipitate students’ cultural literacy in activities;Secondly,pay attention to the language forms in ancient poetry and help students construct and apply their language experience in ancient poetry;Thirdly,guide students to perceive,understand,and create beauty;Fourthly,integrate imagery and focus on the same and different imagery of different poets.
