Research On After-school Services In Primary School

There are three important phases in the development of after-school services in primary and middle schools.At first,after-school services was on for solving the problem of “three-thirty puzzle” that parents have difficulty for picking up their children at primary and secondary school in our country.Then,after-school services policies operated in 2017.Lastly,the “Double Reduction Policy” was on in 2021 and included some new requirements about after-school services.The supply of after-school services increases in the present,the improvement on the quality of after-school services and solving the problems of it are essential.This thesis studies the problems of after-school services with the research methods of questionnaire and interview.by sampling 173 teachers and 309 parents in city S.These problems include increased weight of teachers,poor communication between parents and school,and single content and form of after-school services.Then proposing countermeasures from government,school,society,and family,namely: the government,as a director of after-school services,should make detailed policy formulation,provide financial guarantee,and give autonomy to schools;school,as a organizer,should found an after-school services institution,organize after-school services works,establish home-school communication mechanisms,evaluate and provide teachers with multiple safeguards and incentives;society,as an active participant,social public institution should provide sites of after-school services,and after-school training institution should as a supplement to after-school services;parents,as active collaborators of school,should cooperate with schools and parents and should be entitled liberty to participate in after-school services to improve the quality of after-school services.
