Since the implementation of the "double reduction" policy,after-school services have become a hot topic of concern for all sectors of the society in recent years. On 24 February 2017,the General Office of the Ministry of Education issued and implemented the "Guidance Opinions of the General Office of the Ministry of Education on After-school Services for Primary and Secondary School Students",which requires localities to effectively provide after-school services for primary and secondary school students. The original intention of the after-school service in primary schools was to solve the "three-and-a-half" problem of the Party and the State,to solve the problem of parents of dual-income families being unable to pick up their children from school on time due to work, and thus to relieve parents’ anxiety. The aim is to implement moral education, increase efficiency and improve quality, and nurture a new era of all-round development of young people. The after-school service in primary schools addresses the real needs of parents, enriches the after-school life of students and has positive implications for the implementation of education reform. This study mainly uses questionnaire survey, interview, observation, and literature research methods.By drawing on and summarizing previous research results,it investigates the current implementation status and existing problems of after-school services in primary schools, and analyzes the reasons.Firstly,a questionnaire survey was conducted to analyse the problems of after-school services in primary schools through the six dimensions of time setting, curriculum content setting, site planning, staff structure, cost issues and satisfaction of parents with after-school services in school, then, the interviews were combined to understand the perceptions of different subjects about after-school services in schools, and it was found that the fee system was not perfect, students in the lower section had the phenomenon of "fishing on three days but sunning on two days",and students in the upper section had no knowledge of after-school services. The problems and reasons for this were found to be the inadequacy of the fee system, the phenomenon of students in the lower sections "fishing for three days but not for two days",the lack of independent choice for students in the upper sections, the low motivation of school teachers, and the increased burden of school safety management and the increased risk of responsibility. The reasons for these are manifold, and the final part of the study looks at the joint efforts of the education administration,school-related administrators, teachers, families, and members of the community to establish a practical artificial intelligence statistical system and charging platform to optimise the work of after-school services in primary schools, thereby improving the quality of after-school services. |
