The continuous development and reform in the field of basic education in recent years has given rise to many new things that are in line with the development of the times,and after-school services are one of the most representative ones.Since the Ministry of Education issued the "Guidance on After-school Services for Primary and Secondary Schools" in 2017,primary schools across the country have responded positively to the policy and implemented the spirit of the document by launching after-school services.At present,after-school services have effectively solved the "three-and-a-half" problem,but how to further optimise the work and improve the service capacity of schools in the future,so as to achieve the improvement of students’ comprehensive quality level and all-round development,requires the full attention of all relevant entities in the field of basic education.Therefore,research on after-school services in primary schools is particularly necessary.This study is based on three primary schools in the city of P.The current situation,problems and causes of after-school services are studied using literature,questionnaires and interviews,and countermeasures are proposed to facilitate the sustainable development of after-school services.This study consists of the following five parts: the first part is the introduction,which explains the formulation of the research problem,the purpose and significance of the study,the literature review,the core concepts and the research ideas and methods.The second part is the theoretical foundation and related policies,which discusses the theories of equal opportunities in education,collaborative governance and the doctrine of comprehensive human development that are relevant to this study,as well as summarising and sorting out the policies related to after-school services.The third part is a survey of the current situation of after-school services in city P.The fourth part is an analysis of the problems and causes of the implementation of after-school services in P city.In the fifth part,suggestions and countermeasures are put forward to further improve the after-school services at four levels: government,society,schools and parents. |
