The teaching of non-continuous texts is an integral part of language reading teaching at the junior high school level and is now integrated into the language curriculum. The development of students’ ability to read non-continuous texts is mainly reflected in the practical aspect.By reading fragmented information in life and extracting effective information from it,students are able to develop their thinking skills and improve their ability to solve problems.Non-continuous texts are closely related to life,so teachers should find the combination of teaching and life, and build a bridge between learning and life in lifelike teaching,so that students can apply their non-continuous text reading skills to life and achieve the ultimate goal of learning. The introductory section summarizes the background of the current research on the life-oriented teaching of non-continuous text, outlines the research results achieved in the field of non-continuous text at home and abroad, suggests that the status quo of the life-oriented teaching of non-continuous text is lacking in the relevant research on the life-oriented teaching of reading, and identifies the necessity of implementing the life-oriented teaching of non-continuous text in the realistic context from both theoretical and practical perspectives. On this basis, the research methods are determined, namely, literature research method, questionnaire, and interview method.Chapter Ⅰ defines the concepts of "non-continuous text" and "life-oriented teaching" in the context of their current development in China. At the same time, the author analyzes the life-oriented teaching of non-continuous text and proposes Schema Theory,Life Education Theory, and Language Image Theory as the theoretical basis of the study, and determines the practical basis of the study from the requirements of curriculum standards and the actual needs of junior high school students.Chapter Ⅱ investigates the teaching of living non-continuous text in the classroom from two aspects, students’ questionnaires and teachers’ interviews, and collects and organizes the data from the feedback.Chapter Ⅲanalyzes the current situation of teaching the living of non-continuous text, and finds the effectiveness and problems of the current teaching. It is found that teachers have problems in the areas of insufficient development of curriculum resources, unstructured teaching, and insufficient academic academic assessment.Chapter Ⅳ proposes suggestions about improvement in terms of teaching content, teaching process, and teaching evaluation to address the problems. In terms of teaching content, teachers should develop textual resources, use language textbook resources, integrate resources from other disciplines, and expand real-life resources. In terms of teaching process, teachers should adopt various teaching methods, create contextual inquiry learning, carry out task-driven teaching, and strengthen the teaching of reading strategies. As for academic assessment,home-school cooperative assessment is encouraged, and innovative assessment is carried out by enriching the types of written test questions, conducting inquiry learning assessment, and building growth portfolios. This study focuses on teachers’ development of students’ ability to acquire and integrate information and to reflect on texts.Through this study,it is expected that teaching of non-continuous text, teachers will change their mindset, clarify the purpose of teaching, and truly teach non-continuous text to life in the future.Students are expected to transfer the methods of learning non-continuous text from in-class teaching to their daily lives,to solve real problems,to reflect on and monitor their own behaviors, and to acquire dynamic knowledge.
