| In recent years, lithium iron phosphate batteries have shown unique advantages and great potential for environmental sustainability in the field of transportation. There is an urgent need to evaluate the series of social risks caused by the production activities of the lithium iron phosphate battery industry. This study optimized the social risk assessment model based on two methods of subjective and objective weighting from different perspectives.Among them, the subjective weighting method uses the analytic hierarchy process, and the objective weighting method is based on the real trade share. The optimized social risk assessment model was used to explore the social risk of the lithium iron phosphate battery industry. While proposing the correction effect of the optimized assessment on the original assessment results, the similarities and differences of the social risk assessment results under the subjective and objective weighting methods were compared. The author demonstrated the processes and results of the establishment of social risk assessment models before and after optimization. The conclusions of this study can be briefly summarized as follows: 1)The risk of supply concentration generally exists in various materials of lithium iron phosphate battery production. For example, for China’s lithium iron phosphate and copper foil,South Korea’s aluminum shell and lithium hexafluorophosphate, more than two-thirds of the total supply comes from one source;2)The social footprint of lithium iron phosphate battery shows that the social risk of unit dollar material from developed countries or regions is generally low;the social risk of unit dollar material from developing countries is generally high;3)The optimized social risk assessment has a correction effect on the social risk assessment results before optimization in the identification and ranking of key processes, key materials and key risk categories, and the focus of social risk identification under the subjective and objective weighting methods is different. This study provided multiple references and specific suggestions for manufacturers in the lithium iron phosphate battery industry to improve their social responsibility practices and formulate decisions to reduce social risks. |
