A Study On The Relationship Between Guangzhou Library And Guangzhou City Image Based On Space Perspective

As an important cultural place in the city,Guangzhou Library has become an important activity space for urban public cultural life.In the development process,a rich reading culture and a unique urban image have been formed by the library and the readers promoting,and there is an interactive relationship with the urban image of Guangzhou.In the process of urbanization,as a cultural soft power,the city image is a significant equation to reflect the city's core competitiveness.Guangzhou Library is the carrier of urban cultural space and the carrier of presenting urban image.From the view of urban communication,the urban image includes not only the physical spatial layout,but also the cultural attribution and emotional resonance of the citizen.Based on the media attribute of the space,city image is the combination of physical space and spiritual space.This thesis understands the essence of communication as the construction and generation of meaning,understands the physical space as the medium,and then discusses how Guangzhou Library,as a spatial medium,can construct and reflect the city image,that is,the relationship between Guangzhou library and the city image of Guangzhou.Based on the space theory,this thesis regards Guangzhou Library as a medium to spread and shape the city image,and explores what role the library as a physical space medium and mass media plays in shaping and spreading the city image.Taking Guangzhou Library as the research object,using questionnaire method to analyze the overall evaluation and cognition of Guangzhou city image,using field investigation and literature research method to deeply analyze the physical building as the material space,and the interaction relationship between Guangzhou Library as the spiritual space and social space and the urban image.The physical space of Guangzhou Library is a landmark building in the urban cultural construction of Guangzhou City,showing the cultural memory of the city,highlighting the cultural atmosphere of the city,and spreading the city image.The pan-cultural space formed by Guangzhou Library can not only meet the spiritual and cultural needs of the general public,but also meet the construction of readers' personal spiritual space.Guangzhou Library has become the “third space” for interpersonal communication and equal dialogue.As the medium of communication in the medium space,readers can establish the perception and evaluation of reading activities,Guangzhou Library and the urban image of Guangzhou.The physical space,spiritual space and media space are progressive relationships.The space of Guangzhou Library and Guangzhou city image complement each other and promote each other.Guangzhou Library shows the city image of Guangzhou through the space,and its space shaping is also influenced by the city image of Guangzhou,which is the relationship between Guangzhou Library and Guangzhou city image.
