The Topic Construction And Discourse Analysis Of The Poverty Alleviation Report Of Henan Daily In 2020

Poverty alleviation is a global problem that the whole world is striving to overcome.As one of the countries with the largest number of poor people,China has always been committed to solving the poverty problem in its own country,and has contributed the strength of China to the cause of poverty reduction in the world.For more than 40 years,China has focused on the living conditions of the poor people,carried out poverty governance for many years,and gradually achieved staged poverty alleviation results.In2020,China made the historic achievement of building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way,and created a great miracle in the history of human poverty reduction.At the National Poverty Alleviation Conference on February 26,2021,the whole country and even the world witnessed the achievements of China's poverty alleviation,which also marked a phased victory in China's poverty alleviation and poverty reduction.The complete success of poverty alleviation and the continuous advancement of rural revitalization have laid the foundation for the realization of my country's goal of common prosperity.As one of the provinces with an underdeveloped economy and a large number of poor people,Henan has always been a key area for poverty alleviation by the party and the state.The poverty alleviation in 2020 has entered a decisive stage,and the poverty alleviation situation in Henan has also attracted much attention.Henan Daily,the provincial party newspaper of Henan Province,plays an irreplaceable authoritative main body advantage of mainstream media in helping the province's information poverty alleviation.Therefore,this paper takes 815 reports on poverty alleviation in Henan Daily in 2020 as the research object.Based on the theory of agenda setting and discourse analysis,this paper uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods,from the perspective of issue construction and discourse analysis.The study found that,Henan Daily's report on poverty alleviation in the decisive year of the decisive battle constructed political,story,supervisory,review and speech issues,showing the overall characteristics of content issues,that is,the issue logic of telling the story of poverty alleviation in Henan.And based on the three dimensions of Fairclough's text-discourse practice-social practice,a critical discourse analysis was carried out on the poverty alleviation issue of Henan Daily,and it was concluded that it has the functions of constructing social reality,constructing subject image and constructing social consensus.However,its reports also have the problems of attaching importance to the display of poverty alleviation achievements,ignoring the expression of poverty alleviation,the imbalance of the proportion of discourse subjects,and the fixed mode of discourse expression.Based on this,the author believes that content selection should be balanced,public opinion supervision should be strengthened,attention should be paid to poverty alleviation targets,listening to the voices of vulnerable groups and innovative discourse expressions,and telling the optimal path for poverty alleviation stories.
