With the rapid development of domestic smart manufacturing in the 21st century,S Company quickly occupied a certain domestic market share with its many years of global leading products, technologies and services. However, with the breakthrough of domestic enterprises' product and technology barriers, market competition has become extremely fierce.Successful project management, especially progress management, can save costs and time for enterprises and improve their market competitiveness. Therefore, this thesis tries to improve S company's project schedule management by using relevant theories and methods of project schedule management.First, this thesis analyzes the status quo and problems of S company's schedule management, the main problem is that the planning and monitoring methods are not scientific and reasonable. Then, using the methods of Work Breakdown Structure and Program Evaluation and Review Technique, the schedule is researched using the error-proof system project as an example.Secondly,it analyzes the limitations of Program Evaluation and Review Technique, uses the critical chain method to carry out the optimization analysis of the schedule, and then uses the weighted quantification method and the monitoring of the buffer to carry out the optimization analysis of the progress monitoring. Finally, put forward a guarantee scheme for the implementation of project progress management. This thesis optimizes the schedule management of S company by using scientific methods to ensure that the project finished ahead of schedule. The theories and methods used in the research also provide reference value for other enterprises to carry out the progress management of industrial automation projects.
