Research On The Construction Of Scale On Information Literacy And Empirical Analysis For Volunteers In Citizen Science Project

With the continuous development of Internet technology and the rise of citizen science,citizen science projects can carry out group cooperation with the help of Internet platform.The Internet cooperation model can well avoid the constraints of traditional scientific research,and some scientific projects with high cost,long time and large personnel demand can get good solutions.As one of the important citizen science participants,volunteers play a great role in the progress of the citizen science project.The citizen Science project also serves as an informal education platform to provide a channel for volunteers to develop their knowledge,skills and qualities.Information literacy is one of the important qualities in the information age.Citizen science projects based on the Internet platform also require volunteers to have a high level of information literacy.But there are currently no tools to measure information literacy for volunteers in citizen science projects.This study to the citizen outside combed the science and research on the basis of the information literacy,puts forward the citizen volunteers should have seven big accomplishment in science projects,and trying to develop measurable the citizen accomplishment of science project volunteers information scale,further enrich to explore in the field of citizen science in our country,also to want to participate in the citizen science project volunteers provides a better understanding of their own information literacy level measuring tool.In this paper,with the help of foreign references and case studies,an initial project pool consisting of 7 dimensions and 29 items was formed.After the expert evaluation of the content validity and the reliability and exploratory factor analysis of the results of the pre-test questionnaire,the unreasonable items were deleted and the formal questionnaire containing 26 items was finally formed.Independent sample T-test was conducted for each item of the formal questionnaire results to determine whether it has the ability to distinguish between high and low groups.Meanwhile,reliability test,exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were also conducted for the most data results.The analysis results showed that all fitness indexes of the model were up to the standard and the reliability was also relatively ideal.The confirmatory factor analysis removed one item that had a low correlation with its dimensions,and the final scale consisted of 25 items.The scale includes seven dimensions,namely,information meaning,information science knowledge,information demand,information search,information evaluation and communication,information storage and utilization,and information ethics and law.Finally,the relationship between demographic characteristics and various dimensions of information literacy is analyzed.
