With the continuous development of electronic technology and computer science,especially in recent years,people have made continuous breakthroughs in the fields of intelligent robots,autonomous driving,navigation and guidance,and the acquisition of images is playing an increasingly important role in this Under the background,the research has very urgent needs for real-time image acquisition and high-speed transmission.Taking advantage of the ability of FPGA to process data in parallel,this paper proposes a design scheme of high-speed image transmission system based on FPGA.The work done in this article mainly includes:(1)Formulate a high-speed image transmission system design scheme based on FPGA.Through analysis of the existing solutions,it is determined that Xilinx's Artix-7 series FPGA chips are used as the main controller of the system,the image of the CMOS image sensor OV5640 is collected as the data source of the system,DDR3 SDRAM is used as the image memory,and the HDMI interface is used As a real-time image display protocol,the data transmission protocol uses Gigabit Ethernet,and the image receiving end also uses FPGA as the main controller.(2)Complete the logical design of the image transmission system from the whole to each functional sub-module.Mainly include the logic design of the image acquisition module,including the initial configuration of the image sensor and the image acquisition after the initialization is successful;the logic design of the image cache module,including the use of asynchronous FIFO cache and control of the external memory chip DDR3 SDRAM cache;the HDMI display control module The logic design of the system;aiming at the characteristics of the point-to-point image transmission of this system,a set of simplified Gigabit Ethernet UDP / IP protocol stack was completed;and the module design of the image extraction at the receiving end was completed.(3)The designed system has been tested and verified.The results show that the designed system can work normally,including image acquisition,buffering,display,transmission,reception,etc.,which can meet the design expectations and have high reliability.In the overall test,it is observed that when the OV5640 is configured to1280x720 resolution and the frame rate is 15 fps,the real-time transmission rate can reach211 Mbps or more without data loss.In the independent experiment of the Gigabit Ethernet data transmission module,it was tested by sending simulated data packets,and the results showed that the highest rate could reach 980 Mbps.Explain that this system can fully meet the needs of high-speed image transmission.(4)The design work of this article is summarized and prospected,in order to be able to be more widely used.
