As the former "first media",the TV station shoulders its share of the responsibility to consolidate the government propaganda front,enrich the cultural life of the masses of the people and promote the economic development.Under the background of media convergence,TV stations,especially the city TV stations,confront unprecedented challenges.QTV,a city TV station with fewer resources and limited market space,has been greatly impacted by the development of the new media and satellite TV stations,its market share in the TV program audience rating has been declining.Under the circumstance,it is necessary for QTV to find ways to improve its core competitiveness,thus reversing current adverse trends.Taking QTV as the research object,this paper learns and analyzes the development status and problems existing of QTV and discusses the way to improve its core competitiveness.Firstly,on the basis of the core competence theory,we studied the factors that form the core competitiveness of TV stations and established the assessment index system of the core competitiveness of TV stations;secondly,we built the core competitiveness assessment model of TV stations based on the analytic hierarchy process method and the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method,and assessed the core competitiveness of QTV;finally,we raised the detailed strategy for QTV to improve its core competitiveness according to the assessment results.It can be found in the study that QTV is of an average core competitiveness and should spare no effort to make progress in the media influence,human resources,internal management and innovative development.
