“People” magazine is the first magazine about people to be published after the reform and opening up.Through the text analysis and readers' survey,the magazine analyzes the diversified image of the elites in the magazine about people and the changes of media ecology behind it.Since its inception in 1980,“people” magazine has undergone three major changes.At the beginning of its publication,“people” magazine aimed at keeping up with historical biographies of classic figures such “Zuo Zhuan” and “Historical Records”,paid attention to reporting historical figures and contemporary elites.The biography has the function of example imitation.“People” magazine links the symbol of "example" with the national political issues to strengthen the readers' national identity by shaping the example image of elite group image.In 2003,“People” magazine made a market-oriented edition.At that time,the market-oriented media trend and the rapid development of the Internet made “people” magazine become market-oriented as the national mainstream media,the media image of the elites had also changed.By replacing the major political-functioned models with market-friendly "idols",“people” magazine has blurred the line between "idols" and "example",to lead readers to worship and learn from the "idol." who are in line with the mainstream values.At this time,the image of the elite media began to break the image of "high and complete" and other stereotypes.After 2012,with the rise of “people” magazine's micro-blog and We Chat public accounts,the elite media image and readers began to diversify,the audience's media participation has also been increasing,and the elite image in “people” magazine has further disenchanted.This article mainly uses text analysis,case analysis,in-depth interviews and other research methods to explore how the “people” magazine's elite media image changes under the media ecological evolution.In the first chapter,the writer studied about the overall elite image-building and the macro-transformation of media ecology of “people”magazine under the influence of political,economic and cultural factors,especially political and ecological factors.The second chapter mainly analyzed the transformation of the elite image and the microcosmic transformation of the media ecology,that is,making a deep discussion about the transformation of the media ecology.The Third Chapter explored about the micro-ecology of “people” magazine from 2004 to 2018,which is the overlapping and breaking of the media images in the magazine paper,We Chat public account and micro-blog.As a representative people's magazine,behind the change of “people” magazine's elite media image is the change of social media ecology,this change is the result of the change of Chinese social power structure,the market-oriented development of economy and the collision of the driving force of Internet technology.From the evolution of the image of the elite media,we can see that with the advancement of the above-mentioned factors,the characteristics of the elites and the public in the media tend to overlap,the boundary between them has gradually become blurred,in the 1980 s,the image of “elite”created by the media has been broken gradually,and the personality of “elites” as“human beings”,individual value and social value have been constantly emphasized and restated.
