The social significance of the idol group is to reflect the change of the style of the society.It is also a significant corroboration of the social change.The cover of the magazine as a social text recorder is also an important carrier to reflect the idiom of the times.The choice of the cover characters and the construction of the text are a footnote to the social evolution.As a true reflection of the social mirror,the idol individual records the subtle changes of society.The transformation of society brought about the decline of traditional idols,breaking the path of the original idol dependence,but the new idol was not born.The value of the fault system cannot unite the community and guide social values to healthy development.In this context,this paper puts forward the "discourse change and idol shaping:'People' magazine cover characters image construction(1994-2016)" this topic,hoping from the micro perspective of the changing of cover peoples from the 'People' magazine last 23 years to find the social change and the social value of the 90 years since the evolution of social context,and thus for the healthy development of social values to provide a useful reference.In this paper,'People' magazine as the object of study,content analysis and text analysis as the basic research methods,mainly made the following aspects:The first chapter of the introduction,mainly on the topic background,the purpose and significance of the topic and related literature The second chapter summarizes the research frame and the research design,such as the choice of the sample,the selection of the variable and the construction and setting of the research category.In the third chapter,on the basis of the second chapter,And the text feature of the two aspects of data statistics and analysis;the fourth chapter is based on the statistical data "character" cover idol is divided into 1994-2004,2005-2011,2012-2016 three periods,to explore its evolution The fifth chapter explores the causes of the change of the cover idol and the alienation of the idolatry from the perspective of the social motivation,and reflects on the cultural crisis behind it.This paper also draws some conclusions and personal insights.First of all,the changing of cover people from 'People' have gone from the heroic idol-consumption idol-the evolution of celebrity idols.Secondly,through the content analysis and text analysis of the characters,it is found that the 'People' cover idol groups show the characteristics of intergenerational rotation,geographical delimitation,professional diversity,educational single peak distribution and female professional identity.It reflects the change of the value orientation of the idol from collectivism to individualism,and the text narrative framework is turned from the feelings of the country to the idol's own pattern.The text narrative pattern is also transformed from the grand narrative to the depth of the idol,and the textual idol image.It shows that the traditional idols end gradually and the idol connotation from the value of rational changes to instrumental rationality.Thirdly,the evolution of the 'People'cover idol is reflected in the constant elitist perspective of the idol from "confrontation" to "reconciliation";in the process of rapid evolution of idols,the passive process changes to the active participation process;the process of idol rheology is also the process of idolization and the process of human return.The construction of idols is mainly done by ritual,emotional and strong author attributes.In addition,the change of the cover idol is multi-field,which is the result of the social action,the ideology,the humanistic spirit,the 'new public' and the media capital.
