With the rising status of women in China,more and more women have been able to appear on the media stage and showcase their femininity in the new era.At the same time,as media technology continues to advance and new media forms emerge,various media organisations with unique characteristics and diverse objectives have emerged,presenting different perspectives and approaches to the image of women in the media and interpreting their perception of the image of women in today's society.The way in which women are portrayed,whether they are realistic and comprehensive,reflects to a certain extent the values of the media and influences the attention paid to women in society as a whole over a certain period of time.The media image of women in this study comes from Global People magazine,which,as a People's Daily magazine,has become one of the most "headline" magazines in China due to its party media background and global vision,and plays an important role in recording the real voice of women and conveying their power.The magazine has played an important role in documenting the real voices of women and conveying their power.The sample was drawn from a systematic sampling of women's images in the magazine from its inception in 2006 to its 24th issue in 2020,using content analysis,textual analysis and framing theory to explore the characteristics and mechanisms of the presentation of women's media images in Global People magazine.The study conducted descriptive statistics on a sample of 165 articles,and concluded that the overall characteristics of women's media images in GlobalPeople include the number and importance of stories,the identity of characters,the character traits,and the focus of stories,such as highlighting the social roles of characters,the importance of expressing independent attributes,and the diversity of fields of belonging.The media portrayal of women in general is characterised by a prominence of their social role,a focus on their independence and the diversity of their fields of belonging.In terms of the specific presentation of women's images in the media,Global People mostly uses self-collected in-depth reports,focusing on the exclusivity of the articles and the richness of the characters,and is good at using the celebrity effect to highlight the positive image and value of new women,focusing on the achievements and contributions of female characters in the public sphere,emphasising the public,professional and diverse nature of the characters,and intentionally breaking through the traditional "stereotypes" of women's roles."It focuses on the achievements and contributions of female characters in the public sphere.
